I'm definitely going to see it. I heard that what makes this movie so great, is not as much the boxing, as the dialogue, drama, and nostalgia, much like in the original. I've read in a bunch of reviews that they brought back alot of the characters from the first Rocky, and that this one more than any other, has that original Rocky street feel to it. It's also suppose to be extremely emotional, which is cool. Is anyone going to see it today, when it opens?? I'm planning on it, just as long as the freezing rain we're suppose to be getting here doesn't get too bad. To be honest though, I've been waiting for another Rocky film for 16 years, so I'll probably walk that three miles, freezing rain or no freezing rain, if it comes down to seeing Balboa kicking some major butt!! I have to think to myself: What would Rocky do in this situation?? And he'd definitely walk three miles in the freezing rain for something he wanted. And he'd probably do it with a 100 pound log on his shoulders to boot. :lol:

This'll probably be the best movie I see all year. I know it'll kick some major butt!! :boxing: ROCKY ROCKY ROCKY!!! I know, I know, I'm a total nerd, :lol: but what can I say, Rocky is the man!! The way many feel about The Lord of The Rings, and Star Wars franchises, is the same way I feel about the Rocky franchise. ROCKY ROCKY ROCKY!!! YO ADRIAN, I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!! :boxing:

You haven't seen any of the Rocky movies? :eek: Oh wow!! I think you're the first person I've ever known who hasn't seen atleast the first one. Iv'e probably seen it atlast 50 times, and part 5 atleast 30 times, no joke. When you do decide to see them, I'd start with the first, and go down the line. Even though I hate part 2, and don't much care for part 4, you'll still probably want to see them in order since everyone's opinion is different. Most people seemed to have like part 2, (although I have no clue why!! :confused:) In my opinion, it was by far the worst. I've only watch that one a few times. Part 4 is pretty corny and unrealistic in my view, but it's definitely more entertaining than the second. Most people hated part 5, but I absolutely loved it. It's actually my second favorite so far, and was the most realistic of the five films. Part 3 has Stallone fighting Mr. T., and Hulk Hogan, so you know it's got to be pretty good. LOL!! Anyway, if, and when you do see them, please let me know what you thought of them, and which ones you liked best. I'm curious to know.

I saw it this morning. I really enjoyed it. It wasn't a stand out movie but for any Rocky fan it's a fiting end to the character. Sad not having Adrian around but it played well into the story. Having the little girl who Rocky walked home and then curse him out in the first film and now she's all grown up was great! And Burt Young as Paulie is always classic!! Any fan of Rocky will enjoy it.

I just got back. I think it fits well as a bookend to the first two movies, which are both excellent films. The third, fifth, and especially fourth were just silly.

I liked how Rocky didn't win at the end, but he "went the distance" with Dixon and lost by split decision. Not only was that a nice nod to the first movie, but it also worked well for both fighters.

I think Dixon is actually my favorite Rocky opponent. The movie actually showed his human side, instead of portraying him as a trash-talking, or stoic brute. The interaction Dixon had with his trainer kind of reminded you of the early days Rock and Mick. And the end of the fight scene left you feeling that Dixon redeemed himself by fighting a worthy opponent and going the distance, instead of knocking a glass-jaw out in the first round or two. You actually left that scene rooting for a prosperous future in boxing for that character.

The end also moved me. Rocky at Adrian's graveside, and the last line, "Yo, Adrian, we did it" was a nod to the infamous exclamation, "Yo, Adrian, I did it!" at the end of Rocky II.

Burt Young is always wonderful as Paulie.

All in all, a very satisfying way to end the saga.

I totally agree with you AKA!! The spoiler part you mentioned was one of my favorite parts of the film. It was one of the few times in a movie where I saw what was coming, and actually liked the way it turned out despite that.

I swear, I could barely keep myself from jumping out of my seat, and totally marking out everytime "Gonna Fly Now" started. For some reason, it actually brought tears to my eyes. It was probably the whole nostalgia thing. Him running up the stairs with the dog, (which I have in my avatar), was also incredibly touching to me, because the dog was alot like him in a certain way, just as the dog in the original was very similar to his character in that film. Very symbolic I thought. It's hard to explain what I'm trying to say without giving any spoilers, but I'm sure those who saw the film know exactly what I'm talking about.

Did any of you cry, or atleast tear up at any point during the film?? I never cried, but I have to be honest, I did tear up a few times. My mom actually cried on three different occasions. She was incredibly touched. Along with the first Rocky, I thought this was by far the most emotional for many reasons.

Anyway, I agree with you guy's, I really liked this movie ALOT, and thought it was a very fitting ending to the Rocky series. I'm glad Stallone decided to make it. I'll probably go see it atleast a couple more times!!
