View Full Version : How about shows you liked that were canceled
toebig 12-20-2006, 02:07 AM It seems like each year we all get into a show that we really like and just know it's going to be on for 10 or more years only to have it cancelled by the networks.
I really liked last years E-Ring and thought it was doing well in the ratings, but alas it has gone for good.
How about your favorite that was cancelled?
Brian Damage 12-20-2006, 02:14 AM Joey immediately comes to mind.
Brian Damage 12-20-2006, 02:16 AM That was a sitcom as for dramas, I liked Trial by Jury.
IAlsoLoveRaymond 12-22-2006, 01:12 PM Without question, FOX's Vannished comes to mind. I felt this plot took the Without A Trace concept to a whole new level. I really thought it would take off and was unbelievably surprised to see that it was canceled.
Wings#1ShowPeriod 12-22-2006, 01:14 PM This year, it was Justice. I can't believe it didn't do well.

I really liked Invasion. They cancelled it and left you wondering if Larkin died
or turned into one of the alien types. I wish they would bring it back. I also
liked Surface and now its gone too.
Wings#1ShowPeriod 01-04-2007, 07:09 PM oh and Kidnapped.. I hope it comes out on DVD. Eyes as well.
Blondie Bear! 01-04-2007, 08:18 PM Firefly easily had potential to be the greatest sci-fi ever. FOX did not even give it a fair shake... Friday night slot, airing the episodes out of order... Come on! This could have easily surpassed Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel as Joss Whedon's greatest TV series.
Point Pleasant is another big mistake FOX made by canceling... The premise of this show was just great. It does not seem like there are many directions it can go, but this show could have lasted a good three seasons efficiently, IMO. It got about 10 times better in the unaired episodes.
But, easily the most dissapointing drama cancellation has to be Angel, for me. This is probably my favourite drama ever, and it was canned during it's prime for seemingly no reason. The ratings were sufficient, but instead of renewing it for a sixth and seventh season, they gave Charmed, a show way past it's prime a seventh and eighth season.
I also liked Wonderfalls, Birds Of Prey, Pepper Dennis, Summerland and others that were axed early in their existence.
FOLrocks1 01-05-2007, 11:07 AM Mine would be "Commander In Chief." It was the best new show last year and I was so upset when it ended. Thankfully what they made is out on DVD.
Buffyboy323 01-05-2007, 06:34 PM American Dreams, Roswell, Firefly, Birds Of Prey, Popular, Freaks and Geeks, My So Called LIfe, Life As We Know It, Jack and Bobby, Everwood, Joan Of Arcadia, Third Watch (I know it was on for 6 years, but I wasn't ready to let it go yet), and 8 Simple Rules, immediately come to mind. Those were some of my favorite shows ever. They really did get axed too soon.
Felix Na Vi Da 01-22-2007, 03:35 PM I think the main one for me will always be Brimstone. God I loved that show. It's a shame that still isn't on DVD. I keep crossing my fingers however.
But more recently I loved Eyes, Line Of Fire, Hawaii, Glory Days, Do Over and would love to have those on DVD.
PrettyinPink55 01-23-2007, 01:18 AM American Dreams, Roswell, Firefly, Birds Of Prey, Popular, Freaks and Geeks, My So Called LIfe, Life As We Know It, Jack and Bobby, Everwood, Joan Of Arcadia, Third Watch (I know it was on for 6 years, but I wasn't ready to let it go yet), and 8 Simple Rules, immediately come to mind. Those were some of my favorite shows ever. They really did get axed too soon.

catlover79 05-28-2007, 11:41 AM Providence. I loved that show and was so disappointed that it was cancelled, especially since it was still getting decent ratings. At least it went out while it was still a quality show. :(

buggsrabbit 06-12-2007, 06:30 PM Firefly and Freeks & Geeks come to mind. Both terrific, high-quality shows, and both done in by Fox's scheduling morons. Recently, we've lost Veronica Mars, which is a d@mned shame--a wonderful show that just didn't bring in the viewers.

catlover79 07-26-2007, 03:58 PM I remember liking Margaret Cho's All-American Girl back when I was in high school. I hear it's on DVD now, maybe I will check it out of the library and see if I still like it.
jimpickens 03-31-2008, 04:52 AM Soldier Of Fortune INC/ Special Ops Force, Firefly, SWAT, Emergency, Sierra, Grizzly Adams, and Space Above And Beyond.
tv star collector 03-31-2008, 08:01 AM Lots of 'em! The most recent cancellation, though, is Life Is Wild. I
thought it was a great family show for Sunday night and deserved more
promotion from the CW network.
From the past: Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.
Sledge Hammer!
Birds of Prey
Pepper Dennis
Summerland
Dark Angel
Roswell
The Magnificent Seven
I'm sure there are others, but those are the first ones that spring to mind.
dakert 03-31-2008, 10:21 AM Planet Of The Apes (974)
treky 04-07-2008, 12:43 AM the revival of "THE FUGITIVE" from 2000. Also, it went off and they never resolved the cliffhanger. I hate it when shows do that.
Also, "STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE"-if that had gone off after the first or second season; I wouldn't have cared; but it went off just as it was starting to get good.
Child_of_the_80s 04-07-2008, 01:01 AM I used to love "Swan's Crossing" back in high school, this was one of Sarah Michelle Gellar's early roles, another show similar to that was "Fifteen" that used to air on Nickelodeon.
I also used to love "My So-Called Life", "The Heights", and "Freaks and Geeks".
repeatshistory 04-08-2008, 04:34 AM Firefly and Freeks & Geeks come to mind. Both terrific, high-quality shows, and both done in by Fox's scheduling morons. Recently, we've lost Veronica Mars, which is a d@mned shame--a wonderful show that just didn't bring in the viewers.
Freaks & Geeks was NBC, actually. Kind of a rarity, coming from them.
As for shows I miss.... SportsNight, Push Nevada, Miracles, Undeclared, I'm With Her, Wonderfalls, Firefly, Brisco, John Doe, Nowhere Man, Platypus Man... other than SportsNight, all were one season or LESS....
Oh, and network-wise, ABC & FOX seem to be the biggest culprits. HBO is kind of bad about this as well, cable-wise. Carnivale, Deadwood...
snl 70s show fan 04-16-2008, 03:04 AM Providence. I loved that show and was so disappointed that it was cancelled, especially since it was still getting decent ratings. At least it went out while it was still a quality show. :(i was a big fan of the show too but at least some eps are on dvd
