It's been snowing all day long today!!! So, I snapped some digital pictures about an hour ago just before the sunset. Well, we didn't get much sun because it was cloudyish to begin with, but here are some pictures of our winter wonderland. We haven't snow within a week radius here in my city since 1997!!! It's supposed to snow again on Saturday, so we might even have a white Christmas in nine years!! Whoo!!!

Some pics I took on my drive back home after taking my mom to her work. I took these pictures inside my car while I was driving. I know....I'm terrible! Muahahaha!:

Here's my car after arriving home. Note the thickness of snow at the top of my car. That's how thick the snow was on my windshield, hood, and trunk.

Those are great pictures, Mona. :)

All the snow here melted about a week ago so it doesn't look like we are going to have a white Christmas. It is a shame because there should always be snow for Christmas.

I took these pics on March 12, 2006.
A low (for southern California) snow level; I would estimate it was about 2,500 feet in the first photo. In the second photo, the snow had melted somewhat. These are the Santa Susana Mountains (maximum height: 3,748 feet) in the Porter Ranch area.

I hope there is another low snow level this year. I would like to walk right into the snow from the valley floor!

But much more frequent than snow on the lower mountain ranges are wonderful scenes like this one from my backyard...

Same here in mid-Michigan Sara. But on the Lake Michigan side where you live maybe you will get some lake effect snow. You always get more snow over there than we do.

Thanks, guys! Well, if you guys think that having snow around Christmas week in nine years lucky, then I guess it's worth the wait? It's bright and cloudy right now, and there is no sun out. It's only 9:15 a.m. over here, but maybe we are slated for 1-3 inches more of snow today. Ack! There are patches of highway closures from here to Texas because of hazardous conditions. Yikes.

That's awesome Swedace, enjoy it. :D

We're going to have a wet Christmas, maybe some flooding. :( We have one rain event tomorrow and Friday and then another just in time for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We need the rain, but I wish some of it would fall as snow. We've been in the 70's for highs for the past few days.

I recorded this today. you can't even see anything because it's snowing so heavily. and I got stuck like 3 different times today on the streets because it was snowing so bad and the plows weren't getting there fast enough. we get snow once in a while, but this is the first time it's ever been this bad. all schools were cancelled (except for mine, cause it's finals week) airports shut down for the next two days, and like 500 miles of highway are shut down. awful. you can barely see my car (the one in the middle near the end) you can ignore the narration. :D

"People are stranded at C-470/ I-25 and US 36 and a lot of cars have been abandoned. Flat Irons mall opened up to take people from US 36 being rescued by the national guard."

so much for winter wonderland. I went outside to try and rough it out and get some food (my fridge is completely empty) and I couldn't even FIND my car in the parking lot. Okay, well I knew where it was, but I coudln't even get to it. To begin to even try and clear the snow off would do no good cause I woudln't even be able to back it up. I think we havea good foot and a half cause while I was walking through it, it was up past my knees. Insane!

The first time in years, I think this snow has put me much more in a Christmasy spirit. Yeah. :)

Czas na Zywiec, yeah, you're in Colorado, aren't you? I know that we in New Mexico got hit with snow in almost all parts of the state yesterday. I also saw the snowy areas of Colorado during the meteorology portion of the news. Our states just had a sonic boom with it. From last night to early this morning, there were nine car accidents on the Big-I (I-25 and I-40 merges), and there was a seven-car pileup, according to our news. Yeeeh. Wow...

Oh it's awful. One of my friends works in Denver and lives up here in Boulder. They let her off earlier to drive home, which normally takes only 30 minutes. Yea, she's been stuck in traffic since 2PM and is barely halfway here. Everything is at a standstill because the roads are so icy and snowplows even can't get by. I keep calling to her to see how she's doing and she's tellign me she sees abandoned cars left and right.

I've been checking road reports and I25 is completely shut down from south Denver to New Mexico and north Denver to Wyoming. Also all of I70 to the Kansas border is shut down too.

I don't know what the hell happened. They're experienced a huge lack of snow in Europe right now (which is terrible cause skiiing is huuuge back where I come from) and then we get the worst blizzard in years. The world is flipped backwards right now lol.

Yeah, I was watching the news on Thursday, and I can't believe that the Denver airport is shut down until Sunday or so. All of those people are stuck at the airport. How terrible. :(

Yeah, it's really weird! I have heard a lot of Europeans complaining about their lack of snow. How horrible. It seems all that snow just came over our way of the world. Some of the Europeans are saying it's global warming. Weird....
