Who was that Doritos guy with the mustache, and, more important, what was the name of his comedy team - he did the huh-yea bit in the cab with another guy?

it was comic Avery Schrieber. He was in a popular comedy team, burns and schrieber, in the 60s and 70s. I think he's dead now

You're right- it was Avery Schreiber, the other half of Burns & Schreiber was Jack Burns, known for his short-lived role as Warren Ferguson on The Andy Griffith Show.

I think he was also on the t.v. show Mother-in-Laws. It was a DesiLu production and he quit the show over money and was replaced. And I'm pretty sure he's deceased.

That was Roger C Caramel in the Mother-in Laws, who was replaced by Richard Deacon. Caramel also known as Harry Mudd on Star Trek ( I, Mudd, and another one. ) I saw him at the very last Trek convention before he died. It was in Palo Alto, unless he was at another one shortly after. He said that if Trek had gone on another year, he would've been in another ep, which would've been a pilot for a show starring him! I wonder how that factored into "The Mothers In Law" if it did factor at all? I'd research that.

Avery's partner was Jack Burns, who was a voice in the cartoon Wait Till Your Father Gets Home.
Avery was also in a few eps of My Mother The Car as a collector who wanted the car.
