Somebody was asking about Avery Schreiber, a.k.a., "that Guy on the Dorito's Commercials," and received a reply indicating that he was dead. Well I'm here to tell you that he's very much alive, even if he isn't as active on screen as he was during the 1970's. So unless you've got proof of an obituary, check out this link to him from the Internet Movie Database:

Enjoy,

I think this was originally posted in the spin-offs/one-year wonder boards so I'm moving this there. It's nice to know that he's still alive (if that's the case, the IMDB is never 100% accurate you know...)

Sad news to report, he has died at age 66 of a heart attack. I thought he was much older.

Unfortunately, Avery Schreiber passed away on January 7th of this year at the age of 66. He started out as one half of the comedy team of "Burns and Schreiber" with his partner, Jack Burns. Burns was the "straight man", and Schreiber was the "goofy" partner (There seemed to be a lot of those types of teams back then - Martin and Lewis, Allen and Rossi, etc.) They then went their separate ways, with Avery making guest appearances on various sitcoms, and the Doritas commercials that most people remember him for. He also turns up on a number of game shows in the 60s and 70s.

Schreiber appeared in 2 regular TV shows that I can recall: "My Mother The Car" & "The Burns & Schreiber Comedy Hour". Also his numorous Doritos commercials.
