I don't think that anyone wants you to go, but WHY do you need to type in ALL CAPS?

it is pretty much universally accepted online that it is bad netiquette; it is extremely difficult to read "tone" in a message board post, and the use of ALL CAPS is usually perceived as SHOUTING and rude in general.

while it is technically NOT against the Sitcoms Online Rules, there is a mention of it in there, where it specifically states:

We do ask that, if possible, you refrain from typing in all-capital letters - many consider this a form of shouting, which is considered a rude behavior. Moderators have the right to edit posts containing all-capital letters at their discretion.


Most online messageboards and forums would simply delete any posts made in ALL CAPS. I am sorry, but I have not seen your explanation of why you need to type in ALL CAPS - it might be easier to understand if you explained it again here.

You should make a thread on Chit Chat explaining why you need to type in all caps. A lot of people don't visit the FOL Board . I don't think anybody wants you to leave.

No you can't leave you have to stay and keep updating your FOL video thread. I really enjoy them and you posted a bunch of videos I never even thought were on the Internet. That thread was one of my favs i would always look forward when you would have something new added. But if you do still go I hope someone does take over that maybe one of your frineds could take over that post and you could email videos to that person so they can keep updating. It's just a thought. But I am sorry you have to leave and that people made you mad about typing in all caps. Its your choice how you want to type if that is all they have to worry about then they need to get a hobbie. Jo jr, you will be missed.

This isn't right, it's not fair, who would really care if you wrote in all caps, i didn't care. Even though i don't really know you I will miss you, alot of people will miss you, i love your video thread, i'd check every week to see if something new would be on.

OK, here's my take on all this. Why are we all here? What is the reason? It is because we all like the show. I honestly cannot fathom why someone would care if someone else was using capital letters. I come to this board because I like the board and I like the show. But I also have a life and would never dream of letting something so minor bother me. My God, what difference does it make? We're all here because we love the show. I really don't want to offend anyone, but if people get all that worked up about something so minor, perhaps they should leave The Facts of Life board and create a new one for themselves entitled "GET a Life". Just my humble opinion.

If you honestly enjoy this board, then by all means, continue to post.

As far as I know it isn't a rule. And if it was, I'm sure TJ or someone else would have said something a long time ago. The fact that they didn't proves that there is no such rule.

As far as I know, there is no such rule about posting in all caps. I think what it is is that some people are not happy unless they have something to complain about.

I look at it the same as someone who chooses to swear and use profanity constantly - it may not bother me personally and I can ignore it, but it DOES bother the majority of people so it is usually not allowed.

I still don't understand why someone NEEDS to type in ALL CAPS; it makes posts very difficult to read, and it makes it seem like the person is VERY ANGRY AND SCREAMING AT EVERYONE. Does anyone actually know WHY JOjr said she NEEDS to type in ALL CAPS?

It could be that the cap-locks button was set to capital letters before it broke. Who knows but Jo Jr. And personally I don't care if someone types in all caps.

Excuse me? Jo jr IS being respectful of the moderator. She and I talked about this when she first started posting and she explained herself to me. As moderator, I'm the only one she needs to explain to, not y'all.

I gave her permission to do it and if anybody has a problem with it, PM me!
