The 1973 game show "Jackpot" --the show had Geoff Edwards as host, it was on NBC. The theme later was used ubiquitously as a background music for sports shows, while a sports reporter/narrator talked about a sports game or something. I'm sure those of you who were around in the 1970s-80s heard it.
When Jackpot was brought back in 1989, it was minus that theme --although they used the very same questions and answers they used back then!
I was heartbroken that it was canceled before I could audition to be on!

But does anyone know the composer of this song? Where might I find it?

Jackpot was a nice show when it began. A group of people would win money --the whole group would take home money! But some drip at the network wondered what was the point if someone didn't lose? So they fixed it so only the two people participating directly in the question/answer won the money. It ruined the show. I liked it BECAUSE of the friendly group team atmosphere everyone helping each other, cheering each other on. The revised edition was the crappy version, sadly.
