I notice the AITF is starting again on TV LAND....do they skip episodes? They aren't showing a few of the first season in order. Do they come back and replay them? I am curious....I don't want to start watching if I won't see a lot of the episodes.
I actually mostly want to see the eppy's tied to the Jeffersons.

Thanks!

TVLand will actually air all of the episodes and it is broadcast order over production order. When you are looking at the guides, you will notice that sometimes the first episode produced is not air until later in the season. Some networks will go by production order and screw up the order of the show.

The big issue with TVLand is editing and they are notorious for deleting scenes of shows

As I am tracking the episodes, TV land does now show them in order of air date or production......just odd if you ask me.
The Jeffersons they did in order and I was able to get all of them except for a couple they deleted due to content. I wonder if AITF got the same treatment.

The eps that are tied to the Jeffersons are from season 4 and season 5

Please excuse my ignorance if Im out of line here but lets not blame TV Land for edits in the shows.

To my knowledge, the shows come pre-cut from the syndicator so no matter where you see AITF in the country, it will have the same cuts. Although, I believe when they cleaned the shows up again for re-release into syndication when TV Land first bought the package, they cut different scenes out from when I first taped them here on my local channel. I saved both copies so between the two I have a 'fairly' complete episode and as the DVDs come out, I make sure there are no edits and if its all golden, I toss my VHS copies away.

Now I don't know if TVLand cuts 'additional' scenes out and if so then yes I agree...shame on them.

However, since the seasons have been coming out on DVD, who needs to watch 'em on TV anymore and get frustrated with this stuff.

TV Land makes their own Edits

when shows are rerun, the sydnicator delivers them with cuts already made; then it's up to the station whether or not to make further cuts, or leave it the way it is. That's why sometimes you'll see a show on one station, then the same one on another station, and some things will be a little different. I've noticed that with reruns of CHEERS on TV LAND and WB.

Interesting....like I said, I haven't watched my favorite shows on broadcast TV in years since the seasons have been coming out on DVD. Its amazing that they still edit out more material. This stuff would drive me nuts.

Im not as up to speed on this like I used to be but the average AITF show runs 25 or 26 minutes right? How long do they run in syndication after the cuts have been made.

Also...are current shows edited in syndication or are the syndication and network running times the same at this point?

Yes AITF ran 25-27 min. In syndication it runs 20-21 mins. I always liked the EDITS on my local station a lot better because they were not trying to be politically correct like TV LAND has to be since it's versions are being shown to a National Audience. On the Other hand, my local station aired AITF at 4am in the morning so they were not that worried about something Politically Incorrect

I'm not sure if sydnicated reruns of shows that are currently running on the network are edited or not; but I know reruns of recent shows are. I've seen reruns of EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND, FREINDS, & FRASIER that were from the last season of the series; and I've noticed some things edited.

Now is that for 'offensive' contact (for those who make such decisions) or for more commercial time?
