It was Charlotte Rae who played Mrs. Garrett from Differn't Strokes to Facts of Life. Unfortunately she was funny on Differn't Strokes than Facts of Life.

I think that they had to change the character of Mrs. G. a little bit for "Facts" because the Mrs. Garrett on DS was sort of ditzy and not really the person you would trust to watch over a group of young girls.

She sure was on DS. They gave her own spin-off series and that's how FOL came about.

Yeah she was somewhat ditzy on DS. I love "Mrs. G" a lot more on FOL.

I love her line in the DS pilot where she said "I don't do windows and I don't do boys." :lol: Of course, we later found out on "Facts" that she has two sons of her own.
