Both, add a little eggnog to the Hot Chocolate.

As I love eggnog, it will certainly be eggnog. My favorite is Southern Comfort's Vanilla Spice... yummmy! :)

Egg nog. I really like it. I first got into it a couple of years ago, and it is usually really easy to find it here in the South. They should make it year-round though. It is FANTASTIC. Yummmo! :liplick:

Eggnog. Although I love hot chocolate. But this time of the year is the only time for good eggnog so I enjoy it while it's here.

I love hot chocolate, not just on Christmas eve, but all the time in winter. Actually we usually make punch or some "fancy" holiday drink for Christmas eve. I also love chamomile tea in the winter!

I prefer coffee or tea on Christmas Eve. Anything with alot of caffeine to keep me wired until after we open our presents. I'll have to find a place that sells egg nog flavored coffee. :liplick:

On Christmas Eve, definitely egg nog! :) It's like a tradition for the holidays around here (although I think I prefer hot chocolate more, but I can drink that any time I want. Peppermint hot chocolate from 7-11 is the best!)

I, personally, like the kind you buy in the grocery store (Hood, for all you New Englanders). It's got a hint of rum flavoring in it, but no actual alcohol. I think actual alcohol ruins the taste of it.

Good question. They should... it did originate in Europe in like, the stone days, so I'd imagine so. Try your local grocery.

I used to tend bar and Captain Morgan's hot Spiced Cider sold like you wouldn't believe. It was actually a CM's holiday marketing promotion...they had posters and table tents to put on the bar and dinner tables, pushing them. They had a catchy name for them, but I can't remember.

We had clear tall mugs. We'd run the rim under water, then stick it in a bowl of cinnamon sugar so it would have a pretty and tasty rim...then add the Captain's and hot cider...stick in a cinnamon stick and charge five bucks for it. We could barely keep up with them.

I'll take a look. I'll also look for some marmite, since I haven't had that in ages. I can't even remember what it tastes like, and people say it's one of those things people either love or hate.

It's only sold in Britain, so only British people tend to know what it is - it's a kind of black paste that people put on toast a lot. I believe Australia has something similar called vegemite.
