I was close to my Aunts but never thought about buying them a gift-lol The main relatives I had in mind was m grandom, mom and little brother

Like was said, it depends on how close you are. I have nieces and nephews and my nieces (three of them) put their money together and buy me one big gift.

I've never shopped for any of my Aunts or Uncles and they've never given me anything for Christmas either. I do go shopping for my Niece though so it probably just depends on the circumstances and like everyone said how close you are to them.

I shop for my mother, brother, sister, nephews, niece, step-nieces, sister-in-law and her parents. I also get gifts for friends of my family such as a friend and her daughter that have been friends with my mother and our family for 25+ years. I also get some of my friends gifts. Some of my friends don't allow gifts, so I don't get them gifts.

My sister-in-law's family is different. They get gifts for some of the family, but not others. Personally, I don't think it's right to give gifts to some, but not others like her family does. I didn't get a birthday gift last year from my brother and her becuase of my sister-in-law. :rolleyes: She expects me to get her gifts though. She also expects me to get her kids gifts. I don't like having to get my sister-inlaw gifts, but I do. I refuse to stoop to her level. She gives the word "awful" a new meaning. I doubt I'll get anything for Christmas from my brother and her because of how she is. I wouldn't mind so much getting her gifts, if she wasn't so mean. My mother, sister, my mother's friend, her daugther, and I all can't stand my sister-in-law. I'm not looking forward to having to be around my sister-in-law for five days when we go to visit my brother soon. I bought my sister-in-law a Christmas and birthday gift yesterday. Her birthday is tomorrow (Mon).
You're a better person than I am. If I wasn't getting gifts from them I sure wouldn't buy them anything unless they didn't have the money to buy any presents.

no...ive always bought presents for them, because we spend christmas with them, so we're not going to say "No gift for you!"...lol. but that's on my mom's side, i'm close to them. my dad's side im not too close to anyone, so no.

I only buy for my wife, but my wife buys for me, my kids, both our parents and my two nephews.

I used to buy Christmas presents for everyone in my family because I love giving people gifts (I'm lame). However. Being the unemployed college student that I am this year, I'm buying stuff for my parents and I'm using my parent's money to only buy for my grandparents and my aunt, who is my godmother. My friends are getting baked goods.

I buy gifts for my cousins and my uncles and my aunts on my moms side all together that's 16 people. But on my dads side of the family I buy them for some of my cousins and three of my aunts because the rest live in NY, Washington State and FL so I don't see them all that often.

But like Irene said it depends on how close you are to them.

I usually buy for my parents, brother, sister, nephews and nieces & a friend of the family (she's like an aunt).

I only buy for my Mom, Dad, My niece Kathryn, my Friend Dick, and I have a secret santa thing that I join every year. I'm just not close to my siblings and other family members so i see no reason why I should spend my hard earned dough on the others.

I usually only buy for my parents, three brothers, Grandma, my Grandma's long-time boyfriend (I pretty much consider him part of the family), and best friend. We hardly see my aunts, uncles, and cousins.

And I have two other friends that I buy little random gifts for, but nothing extreme. I may not even do it this year since I'm sorta broke :(
