it Hurt the show even more it was not the same and steph bored me dont get me wrong she was a cute girl but did nothing for the show i missed the meathead and Archie confrontations that made the show so sucessfulll .

just think of Gary coleman was staying with Archie instead of stephanie that would been some intresting conversations

I can't even watch the Stephanie episodes.

AITF died after Rob Reiner & Sally Struthers left.

The show wasn't the same after Mike and Gloria left but I still liked it.

I must be one of few who actually liked the show more then. The Stephanie episodes are actually my favorite episodes. But the show was gearing more towards an 80s feel then. So, it's probably why I love that season. :)

The Stephanie eps are the WORST and season 9 should not on DVD

I'd like Season 9 on dvd so we have a complete collection. I think Sony will go ahead and release the whole thing especially since Mike and Gloria show up in the 2-parter when Archie, Edith and Stephanie go to California for the holidays. :)

But it debuted in 1971, making it one of the sucessful shows ever to air.

not a spinoff just a revamp of the series cause all main charactors wa stil in it expect Mike n Gloria and later on Edith.

That's exactly how I feel. Of course I missed Gloria and the Meathead, but it was nice to see how Archie and Edith were with a kid. I really liked how Archie was with Stephanie. We got to see a different side to him......And after 8 Seasons, it was nice to finally have a new person in the main credits!

It wasn't the same after mike and gloria left but their was a couple of touching moments with archie and Stephanie... I think it did help achie come a little more compassionate when he found out Stephanie was Jewish...
