Dr. Needle aka as my orthopedic doctor suggested that I have a Myofascial massage, to help ease my neck and upper back pain. I've never had a massage before. I want to make sure I get a good massage therapist. I think insurance should cover them when they're for therapeutic purposes, but of course, they don't.

Has anyone ever had a massage? Guys, I don't want to hear about the 'Happy Endings' massages.

Not from a professional, but I've been wanting to get one for a long time. Being massaged is one of my favorite things in the world.

I've had it done a couple times and it was terrific. There was a health fair near my office building and they had massage chairs set up so I paid $5 for a 15 minute massage. They worked on my neck, back and shoulders and it was worth it.

I have never had one done. I guess I am not a "massage" type of guy.

I had massage therapy for 12 weeks. It was amazing. Didn't do sh*t for my neck injury, but it was nice!

Aww, no happy ending massage stories?

Anyway, I had a professional massage one time when I was on a cruise. I didn't need it for anything but it was very nice and relaxing. I loved it.

What are "Happy endings" massages? Does that mean the massager feels up on your private parts?

Deep Massage from a massage therapist is really beneficial for neck pain but I would not say it is too relaxing.

I had a pinched nerve in my neck and after a few weeks it was 100% better but it was not pleasant (not nearly as bad as the cortizone shots though).

A basic feel good massage is probably not going to help 5 mins after you leave the office but a deep tissue massage should help.

I'm with you! I've had a professional one once....full body! It was amazing! I'd love to try a hot stone one sometime.

Personally, nothing is more relaxing to me than a good facial! Now that rocks!

We have some of those at our mall. I've always wanted to do one but I wouldn't want to do it in front of people walking through the mall.

I don't like being touched, so a massage is the furthest thing from my mind.

Accupunture seems to help a lot of people with nerve pain.

It didn't do much for me when I needed it, but I know a lot of people it's helped.

I have had that kind of massage done. It was two years ago when I was experiencing pain in my neck and radiating down my arm. It felt SOOOOOOO GOOD!!!! I went twice a week for four months.

I was supposed to purchase a $50 spa coupon package deal worth $300 good for four different sessions from a co-worker friend's daughter's fundraiser. It contained a fully body massage, scalp massage, deep conditioning, coupons, makeup sessions, consultations, etc, but plans didn't fall through. :( I'm sad because I have been super tense on-and-off since this past summer, and I could've used a nice fully body massage to calm my nerves. Healthwise, I could use a NICE massage. Ah, well. I won't give up. I'll get one one day.
