I was raised Catholic, but never really knew all that much about God. About 3 years ago, I had a religious awakening and really delved into my faith as a Christian. I read the entire New Testament, bunches of religious books, I even went to a Bible study group. I've memorized dozens of Bible verses and pray all the time. But, sometimes I feel like it's only penetrating my mind and not my heart. I subscribe to this Christian website and receive daily devotionals. But I still felt very frustrated that I wasn't "feeling it". So I went to Lisa's website. She has a beautiful prayer that I printed out and say with my children at night.

Anyway, I wrote to Lisa and expressed my feelings and my frustrations. And she wrote me back with some wonderful suggestions. And it was not a "form" email. She responded to specific things that I had spoken about in the letter. She was so warm and helpful and just completely genuine.

I am just amazed at what a special human being she is. She will definitely be on the prayer list my children and I say at night.

Lisa does come across as a wonderful person with a big heart who is really carrying. I have a lot of respect for her.

I AM NOT AT ALL SURPRISED BY LISA'S GENEROSITY, AND I LOVE TO HEAR STORIES OF HOW OUR GIRLS ARE DOWN TO EARTH, KIND AND HUMBLE.

I HAVE READ MANY GREAT THINGS ABOUT NANCY AS WELL.

IT ALWAYS PUT A SMILE ON MY FACE AND A WARMTH IN MY HEART, TO KNOW THAT THESE TWO FORMER ROLE MODELS HAVE NOT DISAPPOINTED ME AFTER ALL THESE YEARS:)

I love reading that about Lisa, I feel Nancy is also wonderful, but she is so private, unlike Lisa, I wish I heard more about her.

I took the time to read Lisa's book The Facts of Life and Other Lessons My Father Taught Me. The book really gave me an idea of how much Lisa had devoted her life to God. She even refused to take part in a FOL episode that involved Natalie engaging in premarital sex. It was a very inspiring book that helped reinforce me belief that faith and family are two of the most important things in living a happy and productive life. She is a very caring and devoted human being who really is nothing like her character on the show. :)

I agree, Lisa seems like a wonderful woman and mother. We may not agree with some of the choices she makes, but we have to face it, her kids aren't on drugs and they aren't in jail. I think she's doing a good job. :)

I want to read that book. She is my favorite character on The Facts of Life and I think that she is a great person also.

I own that book and love it. I really like Lisa's writing style - it's simple but it sucks you right in!! :D
