View Full Version : SEASON TWO IS COMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No, this is not a joke!!!
TV DVD Fan 12-06-2006, 02:13 PM Paramount looks like they're going ahead and releasing HAPPY DAYS' second season on April 17th, 2007, along with Laverne and Mork! This has made my YEAR!

Ayyyyyyy!
gilligan fanatic 12-06-2006, 02:27 PM Well I for one didn't think it would happen. I think we owe a bit of it to our very own studd911.
Billy K. 12-06-2006, 03:29 PM It does say it's just a rumor. I'll believe it when they studio announces it.
Dynomite 12-06-2006, 04:40 PM It does say it's just a rumor. I'll believe it when they studio announces it.
If CBS Paramount officially announced Happy Days season 2 is going to be released on DVD in Spring, 2007, you had better believe that. Let's hope they also release following seasons afterwards. I hope they release season 4 sometime in the future.
dave insinga 12-06-2006, 06:54 PM im so happy to hear this but again( and im not being negative )when i am holding the package in my hand.but this is by far the best news in a long long time.
robyrob 12-06-2006, 07:07 PM im so happy to hear this but again( and im not being negative )when i am holding the package in my hand.but this is by far the best news in a long long time.
i agree - when i have it in my HANDS i will be happy
but i still think that they are shooting themselves in the foot by releasing it on the same day as Mork & Mindy and Laverne & Shirley, i mean a large percentage of those potential first weeks' sales are going to be from fans that are going to have to CHOOSE between the three.
i mean if Paramount is going to focus ALL of their sales numbers on the FIRST WEEK of sales only, they have to realize that not everyone is willing to spend over $100 bucks to buy all three shows in the first week.
SherryLH 12-06-2006, 09:56 PM Hey this is good news!!! I can't wait to get it!!!
Billy K. 12-07-2006, 08:20 PM I'm psyched about it. I hope they managed to use the original score/music in the series. ---> I'll still buy it if it's with the "generic" music.
bh7812 12-07-2006, 09:11 PM Hi!!
When I checked tvshowsondvd.com this morning and saw that I was literally like "Yes!! Finally Paramount you're listening!!" If this is true, I'm glad they are doing this instead of completely ignoring us fans who want this show to be continued. I will be more hopeful once I see a studio confirmation but this is certainly very promising..I just wish it hadn't taken them 2 and a half years to listen and finally get the hint. I understand they had to deal with music licensing issues but it was ridiculous how long this took. I pray they used this time to take care of the music licensing issues for the ENTIRE series as there is a LOT of music over it's course. I will still definitely buy Season 2 to help support the series so they will hopefully release the rest of the series. Well if this is true, this'll be 2 seasons down, 9 more to go. I'll also be buying the 2nd Seasn of Mork and Mindy.
To all those who wrote letters bugging Paramount and called bugging them, thank you so much for doing that! People think stuff like that doesn't make a difference but it really does! This news made my whole year as well!

Lamont 12-07-2006, 10:27 PM im glad to see them come out
BUTTTT sales on season 1 were pretty weak for all 3
i wonder why they are putting them out?
dave insinga 12-07-2006, 11:33 PM one way or another HAPPY DAYS was too big of a show not to make dvd.
so original music or not they will eventually make it on to dvd.

True, but they were asking for a little too much for 15 or 16 episodes of LAS and HD respectively. 40 bucks? Most TV shows with full seasons (24-30 episodes) retail for 30 bucks, and this was 1/2 a full season and 25 percent more of a cost than most full season TV DVD's.
studd911 12-09-2006, 04:53 PM Hey happy days fan i am so happy that paramount has continue to go through with the happy days laverne an shirley and mork an mindy second complete seasons, something inside of me was saying call paramount and i did, and good news became wonderful news, i believe that paramount will find away to get the music on happy day 2 i do not no about the music on laverne and shirley and mork and mindy, but paramount has to much of money not to by the music rights i remember when i spoke with one of there workers he told me that garry marshal wanted all of the original music intact, and he also said that paramount television believes in showing tv shows in there original formate, i believe that if garry wantes the music he will try to get it, because i hope that they will not use the generic replacement music that was heard in syndication other wise the sells will not go as well and if sells do not do good then that delays the other season, i have faith that they will get the music rights they have the billions to do so, the good thing about season 2 of all three season coming out in the spring of 07 is that it will be commerically advertise, i believe that if all three first seasons of these shows were commerically advertise we might would have had all three complete second seasons, but if season 2 does come out with all of the deleted scenes and original music all of us must buy season 2 so that we can see season 3 and so on, i guess paramount has gotten tired of the letters phone calls an complaints, i myself feel good for spreading the news lets hope hd2 has allof the music in tact peace
Classicshowsgurl15 12-11-2006, 02:42 AM I am so happy. I hope that it does come out because they are saying that it is just a rumor. It better come out though. We have waited long enough.
FonzFan 12-11-2006, 03:42 PM :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
tiff7 12-11-2006, 04:45 PM @ last!!!!!! WHO HOOOOO!!!! What we've been waiting for for ages!!!
The Obsolete Man 12-17-2006, 07:12 PM Season 2 is the last season with major music problems, isn't it?
Granted, there are versions of popular 50s/60s music throughout the series, but after season 2, Rock Around The Clock was dropped, and most of the music became cover versions, didn't it?
Anyways, I didn't buy season 1 until... well, Friday night. I was never fond of the filmed seasons, and there was no hope in sight of season 2. However, with last week's news, and an extra 20 bucks in hand, I bought it, and the show turned out to be much better than I had remembered.
So, here's hoping Happy Days pulls a Mary Tyler Moore, and season 2 bursts open the floodgates after too long of a wait.
Im ordering season 1 from eBay and then getting season 2 in April... If season 3 takes as long to get released atleast i'll have season 1 and 2 to watch...
anglemark10 12-17-2006, 11:30 PM I was never fond of the filmed seasons
Every episode of the series was shot on film.
Cactus Jack 12-18-2006, 01:32 PM YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
OMGOMGOMGOMOMGOMGOMGOMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH YES! I cant believe it! It's HAPPENING! YES! yes! YEEEE-OOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSS!!!
Man ALLL mah shows are comin out on DVD now, SNL,Happy Days abd all the others I love too that I own This rules
Cactus Jack 12-18-2006, 01:32 PM Every episode of the series was shot on film.
I think he means the ones that didnt have an audience, like those are filmed more like a movie, like most sitcoms today
The Obsolete Man 12-18-2006, 06:25 PM Eh, whatever you want to call 'em. The seasons I weren't too fond of were the one camera seasons filmed without the audience, as opposed to the three camera, live audience seasons.
However, In watching the first season the past couple of days, it's better than I remembered it. It's also a completely different animal than the majority of the series.
wayne 12-20-2006, 11:18 PM Does anyone know how much it will be? Sounds cool to me!
Im still iffy about all of this because the article says, please treat this as a rumour and we still havent received confirmation, yet...
Ziggz 12-27-2006, 07:10 AM There's a link on Amazon.... and naturally someone has "reviewed" it already

Yeah, I noticed, and I preordered mine already along with S2 of L&S and M&M. Whoo Hooooooo! LOL! It's a wonder that TVShowsOnDVD hasn't announced it yet, but I'm sure it won't be long before they will.
dave insinga 12-30-2006, 06:23 PM now i can start to get excited
YoliUSA 01-02-2007, 09:47 PM I was just checking Wikipedia, and Season 3 is listed as being released on September 18, 2007. It also says that Season 11 will be released on November 25, 2008. Does anyone know if this is true? Since Wikipedia can be edited by anybody, it could be a joke. "Happy Days" Wikipedia info (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Happy_Days)

True, but I hope not. They also have S3 of L&S and M&M listed as being released on that same date (9/18/07).
anglemark10 01-03-2007, 01:28 AM I highly doubt they're going to release 10 seasons in 19 months. That would be one season every couple of months. Also, if Season 3 is to be released on September 18, 2007, they'd have to squeeze in the remaining eight seasons in a 14-month span. I tell ya, I don't see it happening.

Well, they might skip over to S11, and release S4-S10 later. They did the same thing with the Frasier series on DVD.
anglemark10 01-03-2007, 12:17 PM Possibly, but the reason they did that with Frasier was to capitalize on the fact that the series had just ended. They were striking while the iron was still hot. I hope you're right, though. Season 11 was one of my favorites.
dave insinga 01-03-2007, 05:46 PM it would suck if we only got the super popular seasons
robyrob 01-03-2007, 07:25 PM i dont think we will see any further release dates until AFTER season 2 has been out long enough for them to guage how well it is selling.
dave insinga 01-04-2007, 07:51 AM this whole issue was over music rights,so apparently this has been ressolved.once again season1 and season2 inspite of how decent they are,are not the popular seasons .popularity of HAPPY DAYS grew from season 3 on.
Pavan 04-01-2007, 03:23 PM Well, looks like CBS DVD has struck again.
Happy Days Season 2 does NOT have "Rock Around the Clock" theme, it is replaced by the "Happy Days" theme that starts in Season 3. Also, the back of the box says "Music has been changed for this home entertainment version."
The Laverne & Shirley and Mork & Mindy sets are also altered. For them the back of the box says: "Some music has been changed for this home entertainment version."
We at SitcomsOnline will try to investigate what is missing in our reviews of each.

Is this an April Fool's Day joke? If it is, I'm not falling for that. coz none of those are out yet, so I don't believe that. LOL!
Pavan 04-01-2007, 04:11 PM No, I don't do April Fool's Jokes. SitcomsOnline gets DVD reviews in advance for review, as I'm sure you know. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/dvdreviews.html

OK, sorry I accused you of pulling an April Fool's joke. However, I went to that link you provided, but I don't see DVD reviews of those season 2 shows. I tried looking for them, so now I'm confused. Well, as long as the scenes aren't edited, that's the important thing, and hearing the familiar theme song on S2 might be interesting.
Pavan 04-01-2007, 04:18 PM Reviews for those three are not up yet. As soon as we investigate fully they will go up. Probably by the end of this week.
Music from inside the episodes are replaced, too. Does anyone have a list of songs used for Happy Days season two by episode? And what songs were replaced in syndication? This will help our review.

I knew all this was too good to be true. And there's always a catch to everything. LOL! I wish this was an April Fool's joke.
