Season 4 Episodes
Ep1: Back to Florida:
Cate and the kids say their goodbyes to Grandpa Jim (who's returning to Florida to reconcile with his estranged wife). CJ drops a bomb onto the Hennessy family, he enrolled himself into an art school down in Florida. Jim offers his newly-tolerable grandson to stay with him and his grandma until he gets onto his feet. Cate, Bridget, Kerry, and Rory discover what's life is like after Paul, Jim, and CJ's stays at their home.
Ep2: Cate's Problem:
Cate tries her best to hide her sadness about being lonely from the kids and co-workers, but the kids aren't as blind as Cate thinks. Bridget starts her first day at community college, where she learns she loves it. Kerry and Rory learn that Kyle has feelings for Bridget again.
Ep3: Rory Spills The Beans..Twice:
Rory enters a world of hurt, when he inadvertently spills the beans twice. Once when Rory mentions that Kyle has feelings for Bridget again (around Bridget), and Once when Rory informs his sisters about their mom wanting to sell the family house (because of all the memories). Cate and Kyle are furious with Rory. Meanwhile, Rory, Bridget, and Kerry are dead against selling the house and decide to confront their mom about it. Also, Bridget wonders if Kyle wants to get back together or not.
Ep4: Bridget's Rival:
Bridget learns she has her Psych class with her high school rival, Jenna (Megan Fox). The teacher notices their hatred and hostility between the two instantly. Bridget and Jenna are assigned to be partners for the whole semester, much to both of their dismays. Meanwhile, Cate develops a crush on their new hunky and single neighbor, Mike (Christopher Meloni).
Ep5: Brothers and Others:
Rory joins Kyle, his dad, and two brothers on a men-only camping trip. Rory has no idea what he's getting himself into by going. The camping trip turns out to be disastrous, due to such events (forgetting to pack tent stacks, unaware of where parked vehicle, lack of food, broodingly rambuncious brothers who are at each others' throats 24/7, etc). Meanwhile, back at home, Bridget and Kerry oversees Cate talking to new neighbor Mike, causing the girls to want their mom to re-enter the dating realm again.
Ep6: A Happy Hennessy Halloween:
Cate is invited to a costume party of her friend, Karen (Betsy Randle). Cate is shocked to bump into Mike at Karen's party, turns out Mike and Karen went to college together and been friends ever since. Meanwhile, the kids, Kyle, and Jenna attend a haunted house, and end up getting locked in overnight (while there, tensions rise--as well as haunting stories are told).
Ep7: Live, Laugh, and Love:
Kyle asks Bridget out on a date, she accepts his offer. The two end up having a blast on their "second first date" (being this is the first time going out since they broke up for year). Kerry becomes jealous and wants a boyfriend, Rory helps set Kerry up with his immature friends.
Ep8: Calling All Hot Mothers!:
The Hennessy kids sign Cate to participate in Michigan's Hot Mothers competition (beauty contest for Michigan mothers). Each kid helps Cate prepare for the competition: Bridget works on "her look" and appearance, Kerry works on the Question/Answer part, and Rory works on the Talent part. Cate feels honored her kids think so highly of her, until she learns the Grand Prize is a brand new sports car. Cate decides to sabotage her chances of winning, yet ends up taking second place due to the audience loving her sense of humor.
Ep9: The Legendary Mrs. O'Reilly:
When Cate is called into have a talk with Kerry's teacher, Mrs. O'Reilly (Julia Duffy), Cate realizes she is in for a lecture or two. Kerry's teacher is accusing Kerry of cheating on her final exam and when Kerry denied it, she supposively gave her "some lip". Cate just laughs it off and is ready to leave (due to knowing Kerry would not cheat on her exam), Mrs. O'Reilly calls Cate an "incompotent mother" which sends Cate over the top---to Kerry's amusement.
