View Full Version : CALLING ON VANESSA about an ongoing trade
Calyn 12-04-2006, 06:43 PM I'm absolutely livid right now! I've gotta let you guys know about a bad trader amongst us. Her email is "snuffle_32@yahoo.com", or at least it was. It's isn't active any longer. Her name is Vanessa Cash, and she lives in Chandler, Arizona. My first time trading and this is the crap I end up with?! I am so unimpressed right now. Don't get screwed the way I did!
robyrob 12-04-2006, 07:06 PM do you have any other details you can provide, like what was their user name here?
what were the details of this trade?
pupil1313 12-04-2006, 07:32 PM What happened, what did she do?
KonfusionFTC 12-04-2006, 07:41 PM i trade with this person a bunch not 1 bad trade.
basement_artie 12-04-2006, 08:06 PM I did a trade with her the Friday before Thanksgiving. I said I would send out Monday via priority mail and she replied that she wasn't that fast and might not be able to get it out Monday. So I sent out that Monday via priority mail as promised. I later received 2 of the 3 series from her that Friday. She still owes me Boston Public (15 discs I believe). I have been private PM'ing her and she hasn't responded. I asked her if she received and when I can expect Boston Public.
loren 12-04-2006, 08:10 PM by rule this person can not post negative things
there is a time that a user needs to be a member --before--they can run a negative post
vanessa is known, and a proven trader
who in the world is this person???
Sopranos 12-04-2006, 08:13 PM I did a huge trade with her like a week and a half ago and all went well but then she did disapear without putting plus feedback for me..I didnt take it as a low blow because she told me last time we talked that she had the flu and stuff..Hope all is well
robyrob 12-04-2006, 08:22 PM I agree that after only 2 posts, and virtually no details - we need to hear directly from Vanessa her side in this before anyone gets labeled a "bad trader"

I've had great trades with Vanessa and Calyn. Calyn is a great friend of mine and she must have lost her old user ID because she's been on here since 2002...I joined WAY before that but my profile shows 2004.....I couldn't find my old ID when I started posting again, so must be the same situation. Anyway, she has the right to post as she's been here longer than most of you have! Hopefully they can work it out, they are both nice people!

She's been around for a long time but it's her first time trading?
I've traded with Vanessa and have nothing but praise for her.

A lot of people have been on the boards for years but they don't trade...
I think what she meant was it was her first time trading with Vanessa, she just didn't make that clear..
masterblooregard 12-05-2006, 10:04 PM I've also traded with Vanessa a few times and everything went well. She does take a while to send sometimes and email communication isn't the best, but she has great stuff and she always comes through in the end.

No, I'm pretty sure she meant it was her first trade ever.

Well it's not her first trade because she and I have traded MANY times under her other user ID, back since 2002! I'm not sure why we are debating this
when I have no reason to say it if it wasn't true!

do you have any other way of contacting her?
she hasn't answered any of my pms or emails yet.
of course, I still don't really know any of the details of what happened, other than one trader is unhappy for some reason.
basement_artie 12-06-2006, 02:49 PM Well, two if you include me because she still owes me 15 discs. It's almost been two weeks since I received part of the trade.
robyrob 12-12-2006, 10:34 PM I still have not gotten a reply from Vanessa about this, I had to make some guesses about her correct email address, so I am not 100% sure that she is receiving my messages.
If anyone DOES have any contact with her could they please direct her to this thread?
scaryistheword 12-13-2006, 10:09 AM First let me say being new I know neither of these people but I would like to say something about this if I may. If newbies cannot post negatives it could possibly be holding the board back. You would be afraid to even become a trader because you could do or say NOTHING if by the slim chance you were cheated.
I think it would just be better if they had too prove the trade really took place. Say I was cheated first off I would give the person pleanty of time and keep it between us as long as possible and post ONLY when all hope is lost..THEN I would post asking for a reply from them on the board.
If no reply I would post POSSIBLE BAD TRADER. I would put the details of the trade and put my delivery confirmation number If the established trader REALLY sent he/she would have no problem posting a D.C number. correct? but if they didn't reply with one well it looks like they Just proved the point.

Being new is one thing, but being new and having your ONLY post be a negative one right off the bat, with ABSOLUTELY no information about the trade or any other details makes it LOOK shady.
I think most newbies expect to make a few posts and test the waters a bit before they gain trust and make some friends, be it here or any other site.
loren 12-13-2006, 02:14 PM the spirit of the rule is not to keep new people down and remove their right to post feedback
its to keep people from getting a second, third or forth account and trying to mount a smear campaign
or from comming on here
and trying to scam someone, and then ripping them publicaly for little or no reason
a person whos a legit honest trader
would not even mind this rule at all
it was in effect when i started as well
new folks need to prove them selves
i did, we all had to
those who take exception to the plan, usualy prove to be a problem
and yes i can site numerous examples
scaryistheword 12-13-2006, 05:14 PM I do agree it should not be your first post. That does look Suspicious. I was Just sounding off doesn't really concern me as I am currently finishing up my first two trades and will not be new much longer..lol
scaryistheword 12-13-2006, 05:26 PM Yeah thats true someone could make 4-5 names and ruin a respectable members name. But I do think a newbie should be able to post something if they were cheated. They should just have to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt. Say we traded Loren and I posted about you with a delivery confirmation number. I know your a VERY respected trader would you have any problem posting a D.C number? No you wouldn't.
Actually the newbie could be telling on thereself for being non patient and hurting themselves in the long term. I know I have sold a few things to people and received there money one day and two days later I get emails wanting to know where there stuff is. In the longterm they hurt thereselves as I blocked them from making future purchases from me as I didn't wanna deal with them any longer.

robyrob 12-13-2006, 05:57 PM well, we don't usually talk about sales here, but the general idea is the same - the "newbie" in this case just posted negative comments ONLY, on their FIRST day, without providing ANY actual details of the trade.
now, I'm not saying that this person is lying or anything, I'm just saying that it makes it look suspicious compared to what would've happened if they had gone another route by providing some details, or contacting a moderator or another member about this privately FIRST.
robyrob 12-18-2006, 04:12 PM still have NOT heard back from Vanessa about this - anyone have any other way of contacting them?
tick26 12-29-2006, 09:47 PM well i hate to be the bearer of bad news, but i think something something happend to vanessa. the first trade was great nothing wrong, but this trade i was suppossed to trade her seasons 3-6 of po5 for 20 discs of variouse shows. i told her off hand since they are not on dvd yet, it will take time and i rather send a season at a time and she said ok. sent season3 out and nothing. everyone else who i sent their dvds out that day receive theirs. maybe sometthing bad happend, but there have been traders that have turn scammers. and for newbies have to wait til their meet their quata of posts to announce a bad trader i disagree. that's what scammers prey on the newbies. newbies don't know where to look for bad traders and do you know how many bad traders lists are out there? goggling their name won't do a damn if none report them.scammers are taking a new level now, get 10 or more great trades before they do they're dirty work, because they know they have 10 traders that will back them up. i wouldn't call her a bad trader just yet
KonfusionFTC 12-31-2006, 01:58 AM maybe she has no internet or was injured/physically hurt or hospitalized or something bad happen.
Rooster 09-01-2007, 09:17 AM Just to update things on Vanessa.
I did a trade also about around Nov 2006, she didnt send or respond to the emails.
Just a couple of months ago, Vanessa sent me an email about how she had some personal problems and yadda yadda....that she would make things right.
Well, still nothing and again not responding to my pm's...
Not crossing my fingers, but find it very unclassy as all we have is the honor system and another trader can follow those rules...
Thanks for reading my rant..
KonfusionFTC 09-02-2007, 12:56 AM glad her trades with me went very smoothly
Rooster 09-02-2007, 03:16 AM glad to hear that..very soothing:rolleyes:
tick26 09-02-2007, 07:34 AM she did the same thing to me too rooster. just pop up out of nowhere with the family problems. we set up the trade again, but i wasn't going to send her season 4 til she fulfilled what she owed me for season 3 and she pulled a f-ing harry potter on me! not returning any of her emails. i don't know about her.
Rooster 09-02-2007, 11:46 AM yeah tick, same story here...pm'ed me w/something about problems... and then promised to send what she owed and more for the problems and now nothing..
It really not about the discs, just the class of the person..honor system, it's the only way this works..
But at least people know of this bad trader and hopefully avoid her...
tick26 09-05-2007, 11:42 PM iit goes what i said in my post months back. people were jumping on a newbie flagging bad trader even though she has people backing her up. you never know when any trader will take a turn
