I was watching season one and noticed that the outside of Arnold's looked different in the first two episodes. There was a large tin roof that spread over the parking lot in a semi-circle, probably a rain shelter for the cars so people could order food while it was raining.

Starting with the third episode the tin roof was gone and there was just a small overhanging. In the third episode there was also a sign in the entry hall that said "under new management" which is kind of funny.

In the pilot episode Arnold's Drive-In was called Arthur's. In the second episode, the name was changed to the now-familiar Arnold's. That might explain the "Under New Management" sign you saw.

I thought I was the only one who noticed "Arthur's"!! I thought I was just losing it!

I wonder why they changed the name from Arthur's to Arnold's?

I dont know why they changed it. I dont know if Arthur's would have had the same ring as Arnold's did. Maybe Fonzie owned back then as well. His name was Arthur right? LOL

Did you also noticed that they never mentioned Arthur's by name? I never heard Richie or Potsie say they're going to Arthur's.

They never mentioned it by "Arthur's" that is True.
I wonder if they would have kept the name if Fonzies real name would have still been Arthur too?
Or am I painting myself into a maze or circular logic?
I tend to over think things sometimes.
