Episode 403 on Comcast is the worst ODAAT episode I've watched so far. It makes "Where's Mom" and "Ann's Crisis" look like Emmy winners!

I already see a change in the show for the 4th season. I'm sensing we might not get to see as many Julie/Ms. Romano conflicts as before.

I can't even remember because it was so boring. It just seemed like Ann and her friend in the apartment making dinner and talking about junk. Snore!!!!

I kind of liked it. The guy who played the husband also played Dr. Bennett Ludlow, Carla's baby daddy on Cheers and most shockingly a KKK member on tonight's The Jefferson's marathon. He was truly evil in that one. :(

I also have a fondness for Millie Swanson and anything Mayberry related...

I was just watching "Ann's Friends" this morning on YouTube. Yeah, the "Sorry, Wrong Meeting" episode from The Jeffersons is what I'll always associate that guy with. What a despicable character that was! I remember him also playing a villain role in a Charles In Charge episode. He was also in the pilot episode of 227. It looks like he's been in a lot of things. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0439170/?ref_=tt_cl_t6 James Karen is his name.

Hi DJM77!

Its nice to meet you.

I wonder what its like when an actor has to play such a deeply evil, racist, morally bankrupt character such as that. He gave me the chills.

I also remember him as Dorothy Zbornak's eternally patient boyfriend on the Golden Girls. He is a very versatile actor.

He apparently is still alive at the ripe old age of 92!

Hope I will see you around more...

Hi Anna, nice to meet you as well!

I actually post fairly often, just not much on the One Day At A Time board. I've been enjoying the episodes on YouTube thanks to someone called "coco gurl" (I can't get Antenna TV) where I live.

Yeah, I seem to remember the actor David Dukes (the guy who played the rapist who went after Edith Bunker and was also on an episode of One Day At A Time) saying that he received a lot of hate mail and threats. I wonder if James Karen has had similar experiences. Unfortunately there are a lot of people who really have a hard time separating fiction from reality.

Yes, I will never be one of those kind of people that is for damn sure, LOL! I don't care what anybody may say about me...:D (private joke, private joke) :D

David Dukes is a great example of a likable person in real life who excelled in playing the epitome of evil. He also could be very sympathetic as well depending on the part.

There are villainous characters like J.R. Ewing that are selfish and scheming and mentally abusive but they have an inherent likability despite their heinous deeds. The parts that James Karen and David Dukes and even Richard Masur have played seem to have absolutely NO redeeming qualities whatsoever. Chilling...

Coco gurl is a very nice lady who I have thanked for putting up those episodes, even if they are kind of blurry. It must have taken her a lot of time and effort. When you are watching them you can sometimes hear her dog barking or her baby crying, LOL. She must have recorded them straight from her cell phone or something...

I hope we meet again, I have seen your name around here for a long time. My BFF Bonniegirl has been bumping up a lot of old threads and I think that is a good thing, we have this sort of core clique of good friends here that needed to spread out a little and meet some other people... Or maybe that is just me!;) I usually just stay in Indianapolis. I am not a social butterfly. I rarely leave the ODAAT universe.

Haha! Yeah, I've heard her barking dog, but I don't remember ever hearing a crying baby. I'm just about caught up on all of the episodes that she's posted, but I'll have to keep an ear out for it.

Well, I'm not exactly the most perceptive person in the world with those type of things. I hadn't even given the blurriness much thought.

Yeah, for me the clarity is not so sharp but girlfriend gets the job done! I think she has every episode so I can re watch my favorites, which change depending on my mood swings...:D

She doesn't have part 1 of "Julie's Big Move" on there. I watched part 2 this morning. There have been a few episodes that I have skipped over because I wasn't a fan of the plot description.

Oh, that surprises me given how pivotal that part of the arc was.

My least favorite episode off the top of my head was "The Catcher in The Mud" which is just a bunch of random yelling...
