I was just looking at Dave Mackey's site, and read a bit about Milton the Monster, which I'd remembered chiefly by it's opening song and titles, where Milton is created by a "mad scientist" who accidently pours "too much" of a potion to make Milton kind and gentle. It ends with Milton singing, "I'm Milton, your very own son!" For years after, anytime I accidently poured too much of anything, I'd say "OOPS! Too much! --I'm Milton, your very own son!" which confused and worried my staid-old-dad. ( "what do you mean you're my SON? You're a girl!")

I was looking at the description for Fearless Fly ( a secondary feature of the Milton the Monster show ): when mild-mannered Hiram Fly dons a pair of Super-spectacles, he becomes the super powered Fearless Fly. I can faintly recall the series ( Hiram exclaiming "My super spectacles! Without them I can do nothing" or something to that effect when he mislaid them or they were knocked off ) was wondering if the creator of the series had invented that idea as a twist to Clark Kent/Superman --of course, he used glasses as a disguise. But in those days, kids with glasses were perceived as "weak" --here, it is the opposite: with glasses, he becomes powerful. A message to kids to not be embarrassed to wear glasses? :cool: :cool:
I bet I'm right, and will investigate further.
