I would think they will just kick them back to the following Friday (not the 8th but maybe the 15th).

Benson is off the lineup, BensonFan. It will not air anymore Tuesday afternoons or Friday late nights. This will take in effect Dec. 4. No more mini-marathons for any show. Regular time periods are now back. See the link above and then click on the full schedule details link in the story.

Well hopefully it's just a hiatus. They are supposed to have the show under contract until 2008.

Believe me, I understand your frustration. I only need 10 episodes. They are:

#66 "The Party's Over"
#67 "The Lumber Mill
#69 "Death in a Funny Position" (1)
#70 "Death in a Funny Position" (2)
#71 "What a Revoltin' Development"
#74 "Teacher's Pest"
#83 "The Royal Painting"
#84 "Boys Night Out"
#121 "Double Date"
#155 "Hi, Society"

I was really hoping to get all of them before TV Land yanked the rug from under my feet but I kept having this bad feeling it wouldn't happen. It would have been nice if they had at least waited until the New Year to make any major changes.

Depressing. At this point, I'd be happy with one episode a week, as long as they kept them in order. But, nope, not even one.

I am sure Bemson will Return to the TV Land Line up but I think TV Land Should put Benson in a Prime Time Time Slot

Hopefully Benson will be brought back and given a decent timeslot to be able to attract and maintain an audience. TVLand is really doing overkill on the 1970's sitcoms. They tired us out on Good Times, Whats Happening and Sanford and Son. All shows that are entirely on DVD now.

True. I also have a hard time believing any or all of those shows were greeted by the viewing audience with open arms initially. I think they had to warm up to them over time.

I was told once before that Benson is under contract at TV Land until 2008. If this is indeed the case, I'm sure we will see it back on the schedule somewhere in 2007.

Somehow I doubt that, but at this point I'll be happy with it anywhere. At one time they were talking about putting it on at 3am (which stinks) but at least then I could still tape the episodes I need.

Good Times is on many networks in syndication and I think Whats Happening hasn't been in syndication since the early 1990's so people were excited to see it back. I always thought Benson was doing good on the network. If it wasn't, I would have opted for moving it to 10pm on Saturdays and Sundays for awhile.

It most likely will be back sometime next year and we all know how TVLand changes their minds so many times. I have the feeling it may replace Whats Happening in the 9pm-10pm slot as that show only lasted three seasons and it will stale probably after three complete runs like it did before.

GSU2004, WH is probably holding the slot for MASH in January. WH did solid for them at 11pm before. It was on for over 6 months in the time period.

Question: Do they keep track of how a show like WH does the first so many weeks it's in a time slot as compared to its ratings there after several months? If they do, maybe this would indicate that a show had time to actually develop an audience.

I think WH did very well for them and was stable throughout its 11pm run.

It's a shame that TV Land does not know how to keep good shows on much anymore, huh? This show is another victim of TV Land's lack of knowing what to do with their shows these days!

Maybe Benson will Return to the weekday Schedule in Feburary of 2007
