The episode where James gets upset at Florida for going back to school, he goes to the local bar to drown his sorrows. James and his friend are peeling a boiled egg to eat. I don't know much abt local watering holes, but do bars have boiled eggs to eat? I know they have peanuts and such, but I never heard of boiled eggs.

Yes, they do; they are pickled, hard, boiled eggs, and believe or not, they are delicious!
Thanx Tania. I never knew that.

I've never heard of it, but actually, it sounds pretty good!

Yeah, that's a real old school gin mill type bar. Pickled eggs in a jar on the bar.

I've seen them in bars, but never ate any. They didn't look too appetizing to me.

I think the pickling process keeps them fresh. Salt and brine were used as refrigeration before other methods appeared. Think about a big pickle barrel, or even pickles and olives in an olive bar. they stay fresh.

I am SO hungry for an egg, right now, that I'd take them hard boiled and pickled!

:mumble:

I haven't had eggs since I moved in with gluttonous boyfriend last August. He ate everything in sight! He ate 10 packets of oatmeal in an 18-hour time span! He drank every bottle of Gatorade and soda I brought, and snatched my peanut butter. ohno:
He kicked me out late Oct, and KEPT my food. Now that I'm renting a room, I still feel unsure of bringing in food, because the space allocated to me shrinks everytime they forget they promised me shelf and cabinet space.

I'm buying eggs tomorrow, and will cook them!

Your boyfriend by chance wouldn't be the infamous "Bear" from the episode "Thelma moves out", now would he?

I used to think about that everytime I watched that episode. I never knew they served boiled eggs like that in a bar.
