I don't get James. He's either too pessimist or too optimist. He shouldn't have went into the bank with that cocky attitude.

Also, one thing I noticed in this scene at the bank was that that is the same place where Florida and James with to the job interview in episode, "Florida's Big Gig" Mrs. Garrett...... I mean Charlotte Rae wanted to hire James, and the other dude wanted to hire Florida.

I thought it when i was young and poor. i know better now, but sometimes you figure that the loan gods will look kindly on you cause you need the money for a good reason.

Well, obviously he wasn't smart. He listened to Flo and her no good advice and also, he only had a 6th grade education.

I don't think James education matter weather or not he got the loan. The fact is he had nothing to put up, if they happened to have had a little something to put up then they wouldn't have had an problem.

I don't think education was a big factor either.......even back then. I think it was the fact that they didn't have any collateral. It seemed like the loan officer might have been willing to take a chance on them if they had had some collateral. There are people today making minimum wage and still qualify for a bank loan. My nephew is one of them. He applied and got a loan to start up a car detailing shop while he was working at a local McDonald's. He's doing well now, almost making more than me.....LOL

My grandpa (my dad's father) came over from another country, who never went to high school, and he started his own business. It took him some time but he did it. And he had to take out an loan.

But that was a different time, back when 4 bedroom houses were 1000 dollars :lol:
