Does any one remember the story about a young lady that was beaten up by a black man named Wadada(sp?)
She lived alone or at school and he hit her over the head with a hammer and she was in acoma and she awoke and her parents went through the alphabet to try to figure out who did this to her and she squeezed her dads hand when he got to W and the figured it was Wadada.

Was he ever caught? and i can't remember if the girl survived or not, did she?

She did survive. In fact, she was interviewed on the show.

I haven't found anything to suggest that Wadada was caught. So I'm guessing that he is still on the run. I think it's possible that Wadada is in a country that happens to have little or no access to UM (which might explain why, despite his disfigured hand, the UM segment has not produced any favorable results in the case).

Yes, the girl's name was Sarah Beard. She was a student at UNM in Alberqerque, I believe. His chanting while he attacked her sort of creeped me out. As far as I know, like Kane mentioned, I'm guessing he's still on the run.

This episode is incredibly chilling and one I will never forget. What a courageous young woman to come out alive of that horrendous situation. I hope one day, whenever that may be, he is held accountable.... :(

Man this case burns me. As if all of what Sarah was put through wasn't enough, Wadada has the nerve to blame her for the attack. Ooooh, I hope Wadada pays for his crime one day.

Now if only Lifetime Real Women would air it. It hasn't aired on Lifetime in years, at least not since July 2005 and has been edited out of the episodes that it used to air in.

Wadada must have left the country after the attack. If he was still in this country I think he would have been caught.

The case was removed from the remixed episodes if I recall correctly, yet another case of editing undermining the purpose and value of UM.

This one was removed because the actor who played him would occasionally get stopped on the street by stupid people who saw him on the show and thought he was Wadada.

I'd love to know how many actors this happened to.

The man has to have aged 30 years, how many people are really going to see the new episodes with 30 year old footage of him and run into the guy and think he is the guy? They should just air it.

And was a cab driver in Naked Gun 33 1/3, and was the main henchman of the villain in Only the Strong.
