The only thing I've ever read is that Nancy McKeon and Mindy Cohn were good friends. That's the only thing I have ever read. Did everybody get along, or was there friction on the set? As much as I adore the character of Jo, the actress herself seems a tad remote. I'm just curious. Did this group of very talented young ladies get on well in real life?

Everything that I've read has made me believe that the cast were really close. I know that Nancy and Lisa remain good friends to this day as do Mindy and Kim. I agree that Nancy does seem remote in interviews but that could simply be that she doesn't like doing interviews.

FROM THE DVD PROMO INTERVIEWS, NANCY & LISA STATED THAT THEY REMAIN IN TOUCH, AND MORE OFTEN NOW, BECAUSE NANCY ALSO HAS A HOME IN TEXAS, AS DOES LISA. MINDY INDICATED THAT SHE & KIM REMAIN IN TOUCH. LISA FURTHER STATED THAT EVEN THOUGH THEY DON'T ALL GET TOGETHER AS THEY'D LIKE, BUT WHEN THEY DO, IT'S JUST LIKE OLD TIMES.

AS FOR FRICTION ON HE SET. IT WAS ALSO BROUGHT OUT THAT THEY BECAME LIKE SISTER, AS WITH FAMILY, YOU HAVE YOUR LITTLE SPATS. BUT, THAT'S ABOUT IT. THEY REALLY WERE ALL THAT CLOSE, AND NANCY SAID I THINK YOU COULD TELL THAT FROM THE SHOW.

I DEFINITLY FEEL THAT YOU CAN TELL THESE GIRLS WERE CLOSE OFF SET. JUST BY LOOKING AT SOME OF THE THINGS THAT THEY DID THAT WERE CAUGHT BY THE CAMERA, AND YOU CAN TELL THEY HAD A GREAT TIME WITH THIS SHOW AND WITH ONE ANOTHER. ALSO, I THINK I READ THAT WHEN THEY ARE TRYING TO DIG UP STUFF ON THE GIRLS FOR AN E! SPECIAL, THERE REALLY WASN'T ANYTHING MUCH TO FIND.

NOW, DOESN'T IT MAKE US FACTS FANS ALL WARM & FUZZY, KNOWING THAT THESE GIRLS AND THIS SHOW WERE AND ARE GENUINE? PERHAPS THAT'S ONE REASON WHY FACTS IS SO BELOVED, HAS HELD UP SO WELL OVER ALL THESE YEARS, AND WHY THESE GIRLS ARE STILL SO ENDEARING TO US ALLD:

There's never been any indication that the four didn't get along. In fact, everything points to the contrary. I have read many old articles with the girl from the time the show was airing and they all always claimed to be the best of friends during filming.

As Mindy said in a TV Guide article back from around 86 or so (no, I'm not a stalker but believe it or not I once wrote a college paper on FOL), part of why it worked was that none of the four had big egos so there was absolutely no diva behavior or competing over who was the biggest star.

I'm sure every now and then there was a little tiff over something, but considering about all the drama that goes on on television sets, it's actually quite amazing how lacking the FOL set was in this department. If there had been major drama, we would have heard about it by now.

Also Nancy, Mindy and Kim were all bridesmaids at Lisa's wedding. Lisa not too long ago took her family to visit Nancy's family in Austin. Kim and Mindy say they stay in touch. All the girls seem to be in touch with Charlotte and see her from time to time. Kim appeared on "The Division" in 2001 and her and Nancy had a mini reunion.

So while they might not be as close as they once were now that they all have their own busy lives, I don't think there is any ill will either.

Then again, I've also never thought Nancy is distant in interviews. I just think she's always been one to keep her own personal space, but she always comes across warm and friendly to me. I think privacy is a big issue with her and always has been. That's about it.

ALSO, NANCY, MACKENZIE AND CHARLOTTE (NOT SURE IF ANYONE ELSE FROM FACTS) SHOWED UP TO A CELEBRATION IN HONOR OF CLORIS.

Like i said before CHARLOTTE RAE, LISA WHELCHEL & NANCY MCKEAN were +remain the closest of the show (you also see more photos of them than the rest together) you can totally tell: how MRS. G interact more with BLAIR & JO + the facts she seems to have more heart to heart talks with both of them. Also why do you think she tried to make THE RICH DEBUTANTE to be friends with THE DELINQUENT? (She probably had an idea in her mind that it might teach them a lesson about life lol!)

I think there is some friction between the girls, although it breaks my heart to believe it. The last reunion between the girls, at the TV Land awards? Some of you must have watched the Youtube video of Lisa, Nancy and Charlotte's interview on the red carpet, and at one point, Charlotte was speaking into the mic, and Nancy and Lisa were looking in some other direction.

You can just hear this conversation:

Nancy: She's just standing there doing nothin'!
Lisa: Do you think we should go get her?
Nancy: She won't listen to me...

Then Lisa goes off to get whoever it was (it was either Mindy or Kim, according to Charlotte's remarks later), yet she comes back alone. And Nancy just washes her hands of the whole thing. So I think there is some animosity there, somewhere.

Mindy and Nancy are the closest in age, so i can see how they hit it off well right away. Nancy taught Kim Fields how to shave her legs though, and i read another article where they described Nancy as Kim's best pal'.

Somebody posted an article on here that Nancy said that they all went to Kim Fields wedding. I guess Kim was so private that there are no pictures floating around! grrrrrrrr. I don't know if it was for her first husband in the 90s or the one she's married to now....
