HOLLYWOOD - Friends executive producer Kevin Bright has lashed out at the current crop of comedy TV shows for lacking originality.
Bright, who worked on the NBC sitcom from its debut in 1994 to its final episode in 2004, is so uninspired by the next generation of TV shows he's decided to teach a course on directing TV comedy at Emerson College in Boston.

He says, "We're in a bad place. Since Will & Grace, I haven't seen one original idea on network TV."

Bright refuses to rule out the possibility of returning to TV, saying, "I still have an agent. I've still been getting scripts. But I'm going to be very particular about my next project.

"I'm in a very blessed place. I can work, or not."

Does he realize that 'Friends' was not original either. It is just a copy of a British show called Coupling. Coupling was out first in Britain and then they brought it here and called it Friends. Also he should mention hos The Class is not original either it is just a younger version of Friends. with the same writers.
