I don't know what it is about this song. GOT to be one of the greatest themes ever created. The music & of course the singers. It just moves you.
And you feel the thesis of what the show's about just from hearing the theme song.

Sometimes I get in a mood & just got to click the sitcomsonline.com links to the themes & I begin to wish that there were MORE verses to this thing.

It feels like it tells a larger story & we're only getting a piece of it in the opener & closer.

(piano)
BUN-BUN-BUN-BUNG BUNG BON-DON-DUN DUNG-DONUN-DUNG
~Mmmmmmmmmmmmm~
~Just lookin' out of the window~
~Watchin' the asphalt gloooow~
~Thinkin' how it ALLLL looks hand-me-dowwwwn~
~GOOD TIMES!~
~yeahee-yeahhh~
~GOOD TIMES!~

Didn't you feel like you just came in at the end of big verse when you heard that?
Like there was more to it & more words?

One of the best composed songs I've ever heard.
Don't you wish there was a longer-playing version of this song?

Dave Grusin did a HELL of job putting the music together on this.

That's not the Original Good Theme Song, the Original one was thrown away because it was too depressing

"were amovin on down, to the southside, to a ran down apt in the sky"
"were amovin on down, to the southside, we never got a piece of the pie"
"We have no food in the kitchen, because of a whole lot of bills"
"Years years of tryin but we never got up that hill"
"Now we are in the low leagues, because we didn't try our best"
"Don;t worry about it, it's you and me baby and it ain;t nothing wrong with that"
"we amovin on down, to the southside, to a ran down apt in the sky"
"we amovin on down, to the southside, we never got a piece of the pie"

I've always loved the Good Times theme - when it played over the Chicago title sequence, it just seemed so real. Solomon, I am  at your parody. :brent
