I actually got the chance to meet "The Hot Rod" awhile back, after talking to him several times on the radio, and he is honestly one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life. He's a tough guy, who has been through a heck of alot in his life, (including a life threatening car accident in 2002), and so if anyone can beat this cancer, it's definitely him. You're the man Roddy!! Get well soon!! :)

Well said,

I worked protection Security (like he needs any) for an autograph session and this guy was a class act. He even stayed for over an hour with the working crew in the back and just shot the $#!+ with us, before he headed off to another gig.

Good luck Roddy, you can beat it

When I first read about this, I didn't want to believe it was true, so I looked on WWE.com, and they unfortunately confirmed this terrible news. :( I wonder if Ric Flair breaking down in the ring with DX last night, had anything to do with Piper's diagnosis?? When I saw him crying, I wondered why he was getting so emotional, then I heard the news about Piper, and put the pieces together. This has got to be extremely difficult for Flair. I know him and Piper are really close friends in real life.

I remember a few years back on Piper's old website, when he actually posted a video blog of himself traveling all the way to Charlotte, just to drop off a thank you note to Flair, for all the things that he had done for him in his career. I wish I could find the video. It was actually really touching.

Here's a statement, and update on Mr Piper that I got from his official website:

Mr. Piper and his family would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming support of well wishes he has recieved world wide. Roddy has been diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer. He will begin his battle against this cancer immeadiatly.

The following is a statement from Mr. Piper;

“It seems like I have been fighting someone, something, someplace, in some manner, my whole life. But this fight, is one I am gonna win!”

Ever Forward,

Roddy Piper

Piper is a WWF/WWE legend memories of him smashing a coconut on Superfly Jimmy Snuka's head. Ehh coconut!!!

Recently I saw him attending a Russel Peters stand up comedy act in Toronto. I hope and pray he can win the fight and overcome this.
