View Full Version : Remember the '84 epi about the year 2000?
A.D.A. Casey Novak 11-25-2006, 06:45 PM Blair had a dream about what the year 2000 would be like. Remember how Natalie held up that small disk and said that the entire novel, "War and Peace" was on it. Well, she was pretty much on target with respect to memory disks and the like. Also, I love when they introduce "the new president of Warner Industries", Jo Polniezck (sp?). And I love the ending when Blair wakes up all excited and she says to Jo, "IT'S 1984, ISN'T IT!?" And Jo says, "Very good. Now you wanna guess what planet we're on?"

LOL, it's funny, I don't remember this episode at all, but I could envision how the exchange between Blair and Jo would play out based on what you put as quotes and it made me laugh out loud. I hope we get to this episode in our DVD collections...

Nighthawk76 11-26-2006, 12:06 AM Yeah, that is a pretty funny episode.
FOLrocks1 11-26-2006, 12:41 AM I liked this episode a lot too. The end was the best.
Ireneparalegal 11-26-2006, 12:46 AM God, so true abt War & Peace being on a disk.
I have always hated when shows go "into the future" and they are waaaaay off base abt how things would be. Especially shows that aired in the 50's and 60's...you see them now and they make you wanna laugh at how OFF BASE they were.
Scoobiedoo30 11-26-2006, 11:50 AM I really do not Remember seeing That Episode of The Fact's Of Life from 1984 about The Year 2000
Gilda 11-26-2006, 12:45 PM LOL, I have never heard of this episode.
Scoobiedoo30 11-26-2006, 12:54 PM I know I do not recall that episode of The Fact's Of Life
JO jr 11-26-2006, 11:27 PM I REMEMBER IT WELL, BECAUSE THEY JUST SHOWED IT ON ME-TV A FEW FEEKS BACK. IT WAS GREAT.
IN FACT, I VIVIDLY REMEMBER WHEN IT FIRST AIRED IN THE 80'S. WHEN JO CAME IN LOOKING AWESOME, THE AUDIENCE WENT WILD, AND I WAS LIKE WOW! I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT. SHE REALLY DID LOOK TERRIFIC! I MEAN, NANCY IS BEAUTIFUL, BUT WHEN YOU'RE IN FATIGUES ALL THE TIME WITH YOUR HAIR BACK...AND THEN SHE CAME OUT IN A NICE WHITE OUTFIT, HAIR NICE, PROFESSIONAL (ALTHOUGH THE SHOES WERE FUNNY TO ME-STILL JO). AND THAT LINE, "IT'S READY FOR YOUR SIGNATURE, J.P." (OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT). WE ALL LOVED IT, ESPECIALLY WHEN BLAIR'S JAW DROPPED BECAUSE JO WAS THE OWNER OF WARNER TEXTILE INDUSTRIES.
ALSO, MRS. G'S ADVICE AROUND THE WORLD GIZMO WAS FUNNY, AS WAS NATALIE'S PART. TOOTIE WAS DOING A ONE WOMAN SHOW, AND BLAIR KEPT SAYING THAT "SHE'S VERY, VERY HAPPY".
THIS EP WAS A HOOT AND ONE OF MY FAV FOR SURE:D

Your quote of Blair saying that she's "very, very happy" rang a bell with me. I must've seen this episode but am having cobwebs about it. Either way, I can't wait to see it eventually if more seasons are released on DVD (fingers crossed!).
