I've been reading over the posts and it almost seems like you guys are a family. A lot of you seem very close to one another. Is it ok if I butt in once in awhile?

TAKE CARE, RAYA, AND A BIG SHOUT OUT TO YA, GIRLFRIEND;) raya 11-29-2006, 04:27 PM I went to school for tv production, but that's not what I do. All I can say is that I do work for a company that is responsible for some classic television of its own, but nothing FOL related. I assure you that. ;) My paper in college, which was for one of my elective tv classes was about body image on television. The gist of it was that the FOL girls, despite the fact that they were sometimes harped on for their weight and weight gains, were excellent role models for real girls to see. Basically that they looked like real girls going through real adolesence and because of that young girls could relate to them. At the time I contrasted it with the Ally McBeal era where every woman on television was a size zero and how partly because of all the television/magazine/media images young girls were being force fed they were developing eating disorders and body issues at younger ages. But I read a lot of the girls old interviews at the time when I was looking for quotes and info. I'd ask you more, but I won't put you in the uncomfortable position of exposing your life in a public forum. Let me say this, though: In the 6 months that I've been posting on this board, I'm quite impressed with your writing and character analysis. You always display a genuine depth of thought behind what you write. Take a bow, girl! raya 12-03-2006, 06:07 PM Thanks justwondering. I like reading your posts too. But yeah, I have a tendency to overanalyze everything so that's probably what you're reading. ;) |
