View Full Version : Sister,Sister on DVD in 2007? Maybe GoldenGirlsFan92 11-24-2006, 01:40 PM Tvshowsondvd.com reported that it is rumored that Sister,Sister will come to dvd in 2007. keep in mind it is just a rumor. Here is the link for more info: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=6638 JulieSomoski 11-24-2006, 04:19 PM Yes, but it also mentions that the release will be "Sister, Sister--The Premiere Episodes. It will basically be a best of release. This really makes me mad. Sister, Sister is one of my favorite shows, and I have been waiting for a season release for a long time, and nce, when there is finally some news of this show coming to DVD, I hear it's just a compilaton of the first 4 or 5 episodes? Scoobiedoo30 12-09-2006, 03:00 PM this is Awsome that Sister Sister will be coming out on DVD in 2007 coffield3 03-25-2007, 06:22 PM Cool i used to watch it when i came in from school!!!! Ah the gud old days ay!!!!:) :D :happyface :rotflmao: Scoobiedoo30 04-07-2007, 01:54 AM I still watch Sister Sister on Disney Channel at 12:30 am JulieSomoski 04-14-2007, 01:17 PM I know it's on every night at 1:30 eastern time, right before Boy Meets World, but it's also on every Thursday at 5 and 5:30. I really wish Disney would put Boy Meets World back to their afternoon schelude. JulieSomoski 06-12-2007, 04:24 PM I think the reason for no DVD's may be music rights. Especially in the first season, there were a lot of songs (most of them Motown, which are sometimes hard to get). Either that, or CBS/Paramount is just afraid this show won't sell too well. Plus, the "Premiere Episodes" is probably just a name given to the first season, since it only ran for 12 episodes. WhiteTiger 11-03-2007, 12:52 PM I would LOVE to have this show on DVD so I can watch it anytime I want so lets just hope this is true! :D catlover79 11-03-2007, 11:51 PM I hope if the show ever comes to DVD, they put Seasons 1 & 2 on the same set. The first season was only about 6-8 episodes long since I believe it was a mid-season replacement (or a spring try-out). That was the ABC era. The first season was only about 6-8 episodes long since I believe it was a mid-season replacement (or a spring try-out). That was the ABC era. I think the first season had 12 episodes, because I remember it premiering in March and still running new episodes through June. Still no word on this? I'm guessing we won't be seeing a relase in 2007 then - I don't understand what Paramount is waiting for. They're releasing shows like Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Family Ties quickly, so why not Sister Sister? A Good idea might be to release Sabrina and Sister Sister on the same day, just for more promotion. catlover79 11-04-2007, 04:50 PM ^ Actually, SS debuted on April 1, 1994, as part of TGIF. They aired 2 episodes that night. They were still showing new episodes into the summer, and brought it back in November, where it stayed until ABC dumped it in June 1995. WB picked it up that fall, and the rest is history. JulieSomoski 11-04-2007, 05:18 PM ^ Actually, SS debuted on April 1, 1994, as part of TGIF. They aired 2 episodes that night. I think it replaced Family Matters in it's first season, because FM had finished its season early. I know it ran until June, because ABC had initially picked up 12 episodes, planning on premiering it in January but pushed it back until spring. Do you know when it aired in it's second season? Scoobiedoo30 11-04-2007, 05:21 PM I belive The Second Season was in September of 1995 JulieSomoski 11-04-2007, 10:00 PM I belive The Second Season was in September of 1995 I mean do you know what timeslot it aired in? catlover79 11-04-2007, 10:19 PM When SS returned to ABC after its spring tryout, it was in November 1994. I believe it was on Wednesday nights, and All-American Girl followed it. Don't ask me how (or why!) I remember all this. JulieSomoski 11-04-2007, 10:23 PM When SS returned to ABC after its spring tryout, it was in November 1994. I believe it was on Wednesday nights, and All-American Girl followed it. Don't ask me how (or why!) I remember all this. No, you're right. According to TV.com, Sister replaced Where I Live in it's first season, at 9:30 (it replaced Step by Step at 9pm for the Pilot), and aired Wednesday nights at 8pm in it's second season. I always thought this was a TGIF show, but I guess it wasn't on ABC. Do you know when it aired on the WB? catlover79 11-04-2007, 10:32 PM Actually, SS DID air briefly in the spring of 1995 as part of the TGIF lineup before ABC cancelled it. The show then went to the WB in September 1995 where it remained for the rest of its duration. I don't know what night the new episodes aired, but I do know that the WB ran the ABC episodes on Sunday nights for awhile. The show then went to the WB in September 1995 where it remained for the rest of its duration. I don't know what night the new episodes aired, but I do know that the WB ran the ABC episodes on Sunday nights for awhile. God, I remember none of this but I'm glad you do-LOL. Now that I think about it, I do remember ABC airing the show on Wednesday nights . . . I believe it was on after Home Improvement (or maybe it was Roseanne.) catlover79 11-04-2007, 10:57 PM During the 1994-95 season, Home Improvement aired on Tuesday nights, so I think Roseanne was on Wednesdays then. I know for sure All-American Girl was on Wednesdays following SS because both shows got the ax from ABC at the end of the season. GSU2004 11-05-2007, 01:08 PM No, you're right. "Where I Live" was one show that definetely did not get a chance to shine. ABC tossed that to Saturday night to die like they did other shows they wanted to quickly dispose of. I do remember when SS premiered and had the biggest crush on the Mowry twins. GSU2004 11-05-2007, 01:10 PM Actually, SS DID air briefly in the spring of 1995 as part of the TGIF lineup before ABC cancelled it. The show then went to the WB in September 1995 where it remained for the rest of its duration. I don't know what night the new episodes aired, but I do know that the WB ran the ABC episodes on Sunday nights for awhile. I think the show was a permanent fixture on Sundays during the WB run. I remember trying to make Sunday family night with Pinky and the Brain, Kirk (Kirk Cameron's show that was also picked up after being cancelled), Parent Hood and a few other forgotten shows. I think one season it may have aired on Wednesday to make room for the Steve Harvey Show when it first premiered. JulieSomoski 11-05-2007, 06:37 PM During the 1994-95 season, Home Improvement aired on Tuesday nights, so I think Roseanne was on Wednesdays then. I know for sure All-American Girl was on Wednesdays following SS because both shows got the ax from ABC at the end of the season. I know Home Improvement and Roseanne switched timeslots around then (which is when Roseanne started losing viewers), so it must have been Sister Sister at 8pm, All American Girl at 8:30, and Roseanne at 9pm. Then the next season, SS and AAG got cancelled, and Roseanne was moved to 8pm - it's all coming back now. |
