View Full Version : Facts of Life briefly mentioned on T.V show Step by Step
canuckkidd 11-23-2006, 10:32 AM Just thought I would mention this, last night I was watching a season 3 episode of the show Step by Step starring Suzanne Somers, the episode title I believe was called "Bad Girls." For those of you familiar with the show one of the characters named J.T tells his cousin Cody "Im am so desparate right now to watch t.v, I would even settle for watching five minutes of the Facts of Life" (their t.v was broken). Cody then replied "I understand J.T, you need to get your Tootie-fix." "Sometimes I have that same feeling and need to get my Tootie-fix." Those may not have been their exact words but it was somewhere along those lines. I found this funny and ironic considering the Step by Step airs right after the Facts of Life on CTS.
Scoobiedoo30 11-25-2006, 12:20 PM What episode was The Fact's Of Life mentioned on Step By Step.

Latinoxtc 11-27-2006, 02:33 AM Facts of Life is mentioned on several shows. It's a cultural phenomenon. I remember one episode of Married with Children where they were watching it and you could hear the theme song in the episode. Then it was on a movie that came out earlier this year I saw in May called "Art School" the ending credits of the movie even played The Facts of Life theme song. The show is everywhere like Mindy Cohn said on the 1994 marathan of FOL that aired on USA.
FOL85NatandMrsGRock 11-27-2006, 10:14 AM yep, i saw the family guy reference too... that's family guy's 3rd or 4th reference.... there was one that was a constant throughout the whole episode with mrs. g's breasts just randomly floating around and talking (i vaguely remember peter being in a hospital during this episode), then it was one of the first few episodes where for some reason peter comes into the court room being T-rex, and he talks about how mrs. garrett scolds blair for copying her poem by emily dickenson... then there's another episode where they make fun of jo, saying she had both a penis and a vagina... i kind of thought it was funny, but yea... family guy picks on facts of life a lot

They sure do. I love FOL and Family Guy. I remember that Jo reference abt her being a hermaphrodite.
Tootie was mentioned as Carlton's first crush on "Fresh Prince". Also funny since Kim Fields made a guest appearance on that show.
Asaad Kelada, Facts and Nancy McKeon have all been referenced on various episodes of "Gilmore Girls".
Nancy was also referenced on "Will and Grace".
There are lots of FOL references out there.

WHAT WAS THE NANCY REFERENCE ON W & G?
WHAT WAS THE NANCY REFERENCE ON W & G?
I don't remember the episode exactly, but Will and Grace were playing a game where like one had to give the other a clue and the other had to guess the answer. They were playing against friends and it was the last round. Will could only give one clue and if they Grace guessed the right answer they won.
Will said "bangs" to which Grace yelled "Nancy McKeon". She was right.
I really don't remember the details of the eppy though.
angel676 11-29-2006, 04:41 AM There was also 1 or 2 references about Facts of Life on The Golden Girls, don't ask me which episodes, I have no idea off hand.

JO jr 11-30-2006, 07:25 PM I JUST ADDED SOME NEW VIDEO CLIPS TO MY VIDEO THREAD, INCLUDING ONE FROM "THE FAMILY GUY". SORRY GERI-LOVE YOU
canuckkidd 12-03-2006, 07:32 PM Facts of Life was referenced again on the TV show Step by Step. The episode title was "Feeling 40." In the episode Cody asks a reincarnated Abe Lincoln what the biggest disappointment was of the 20th century? His response was "The cancellation of the FOL, Tootie was such a riot." :D
FOL85NatandMrsGRock 12-03-2006, 09:20 PM i remember all of these step by step referrences too.. but obviously cody was a huge tootie fan ;)

IT SEEMS MANY WRITERS WATCHED FACTS ENOUGH TO KNOW ABOUT THE SHOW, WHEN THEY MAKE SPECIFIC REFERENCES TO A LINE.
THAT'S COOL. EVEN IF IT IS THEIR ATTEMPT TO MAKE FUN OF IT, IT REMINDS PEOPLE OF FACTS; AND THE WRITERS MUST ALSO BE ACKNOWLEDGING THAT "FACTS" WAS A SUCH A HUGELY POPULAR SHOW THAT THEIR OWN SHOWS' FANS WOULD GET THE "FACTS" REFERENCE.
Classicshowsgurl15 12-08-2006, 02:58 AM I think I remember that. I have seen that episode on Step by Step I think and I remember that being said. That is cool.:)
Gemini_89 04-08-2016, 04:02 PM It seems like Tootie is the MOST referenced character from this show. And i love it! :D
