He said he had BURNED Mr. Whittendale Suit and was afraid that since Mr. Whittendale owned the building he was going to be out on the streets??? A Man with 7 Cleaners Stores and Succesful wasn't going to be able to as Hotel until he and Louise found another place??? There were no Hotels in NYC???-LOL Why was George acting like he was living check to Check?

I never understood why he kissed Whittendale's ass the way he did. He could afford anywhere he wanted to live, and he chose to live under Whittendale. I didn't like Whittendale, he struck me as a racist redneck. He didn't care about anyone except him and his snobby wfe. he didn't treat the tenants like humans.

Exactly, he was acting like he was in the Evans Financial Situation when they would be threatened by Fred Davis-lol He obviously wasn't going to be on the street if he owned 7 cleaning stores

I agree, I know that he wanted to get close to Whitendale because of business puposes, but it was surprising to see how he would act around Whitnedale. like a lap dog

Maybe Whittendale had a lot of pull somehow. Maybe he owned the best buildings in the area. I don't know.

Well, Whittendale was rich too. And there were many more rich people that could occupy the Jeffersons apt. I don't think Whittendale cared abt losing one tenant, when he could easily rent it out to someone else with $$$.

I understand what Solomon is saying, George could have rented an apartment the next day if Whittendale would have kicked George out. Also George would have had 30s days to find another place to stay. And I'm sure with the money that George had he wouldn't have had a problem.

BUT the only problem that I see is that George would have lost the store that was downstairs in the apartment building. George would have been out of a lot of money there.

LOL....I've been working and going to school, I've been trying to get on while at work when I'm checking email and at home on my days off.

Like yesterday and today I took off of work because I've caught a real bad cold.
