We should all appreciate the lives we do have. triple19 11-30-2001, 04:47 PM Another sad day in an unbelivably sad year. I heard the news this morning on the "Today" show. I'm sad, but not surprised by his death. I had heard that he was very ill with brain cancer a few days ago, and had a feeling that he'd be gone before the year was out. I have been a Beatles fan for years, and love George's music. He was a kind, spiritual soul, and was one of the greats in pop music. From now on whenever I hear "Here Comes the Sun" or "Something", I'll still smile, but now the smile will a bit sadder. Rest In Peace, George Max Whittaker 11-30-2001, 04:56 PM Originally posted by triple19: Another sad day in an unbelivably sad year. I heard the news this morning on the "Today" show. He had a rough four years. He was diagnosed with throat cancer in 1997, was stabbed by a raving lunatic who broke into his estate in late 1999, was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2001 and brain cancer a few months later. |
