View Full Version : SitcomsOnline.com Interactive: What Shows Do You Want to See on i Network in 2007?
Pavan 11-14-2006, 01:05 AM After great success in our first SitcomsOnline.com Interactive feature (Similar Sitcom Plots: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=185250 ), we bring you another installment! This time we want to know (and we might even show the i Network this poll) what classic TV shows do you want to see on the i Network come 2007? They are adding Growing Pains in January, but I have a feeling we might see the hours expand soon, and we can get a nice new block.
They have rights to various shows from Sony, Warner Bros. and Universal's library. Shows that are not on cable, are eligible. So, I have gone through probably lots of most requested shows from these three studios to put back on television, and have made a poll. If a show is not on this list and is from one of these three studios (or not on TV today), then please post and write your vote in!
(Universal shows Gimme a Break! and Charles in Charge are not eligible because they are right now leased to the Program Exchange. Sorry!)
So, start voting in the poll and also post and tell us what you think. You can choose up to 3 shows in the poll. But please vote!
vashti1999 11-14-2006, 01:46 AM I want to give all 3 of my votes to One Day at a Time, but since that's not possible, I also selected Diff'rent Strokes and Alice.
Scoobiedoo30 11-14-2006, 02:08 AM One ay at a Time

MAYBERRY RFD -Warner Bros
TV DVD Fan 11-14-2006, 10:58 AM Diff'rent Strokes, FOL, and certain other shows that I've never before seen.
Rogmeister 11-14-2006, 03:54 PM I picked Head of the Class, One Day at a Time and Kate & Allie. If I'd had a fourth pick, I would've picked The Facts of Life as well...I decided not to choose it between the four since it's already coming out on DVD.
icecream 11-14-2006, 04:00 PM Dragnet and Adam-12
Scoobiedoo30 11-14-2006, 04:05 PM Adam 12 and Dragnet
EmoJoe 11-14-2006, 04:58 PM WTB...i know its owned by program exchange, but it expires on there this may, so after it goes back to Sony i'm GUESSING it'll be eligible.
MichaelKane20 11-14-2006, 04:59 PM FACTS OF LIFE AND MAUDE PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW ABOUT DESIGNING WOMEN
Scoobiedoo30 11-14-2006, 05:05 PM if you mean Who's The Boss? I am with you
Ireneparalegal 11-14-2006, 05:16 PM i also would like to see also that wasn`t on the poll
is Emergency! -Universal
waltons -Warner Bros
Me too. I voted ALICE, ODAAT, FACTS OF LIFE, STARSKY & HUTCH.
We already get McHales Navy & Alfred Hitchcock presents on our local channel. Diffr'ent Strokes I had enough of during it's first run and once during syndication.
I vote for Alice, The Donna Reed Show, and The Facts of Life.
I just want to mention that Knots Landing should be on the list as it is a long-running Warner-owned show that is not on any cable network at this time.
tvfan 2 11-14-2006, 07:17 PM I would like to see:
family ties
the incredible hulk
get smart
California Dreams
courtship of eddies father
Perfect strangers
My favorite martian
i dream of jeenie
my three sons
Michael72581 11-14-2006, 07:41 PM My Favorite Martian
Maude
Diff'rent Strokes
DLevine2 11-14-2006, 07:54 PM Diff'rent Strokes, Facts of Life, Maude, & Dennis the Menace.
TV_Fan 11-14-2006, 08:13 PM Silver Spoons, Out of This World & The Wonder Years
MLBonTBS 11-14-2006, 09:13 PM I voted for Silver Spoons, Father Knows Best, Donna Reed.
peggyk 11-14-2006, 09:19 PM I have sent in numerous request to the i network for the show S.W.A.T. so that would be my number one request here also.
TVJunkie101 11-14-2006, 10:01 PM I want them all (or most) but I picked Facts of Life, Diff'rent Strokes and Maude.
I was going to go for Perfect Strangers and Alice but I figure 'i' might actually add them sometime in 2007.
Janice 11-14-2006, 10:27 PM I voted for Perfect Strangers and Maude. I know those shows well and like them. I also voted for Diff'rent Strokes. I think I've seen five episodes in my entire life, if that.
gilligan fanatic 11-14-2006, 10:30 PM I went with the New Leave it to Beaver, McHales Navy, and Donna Reed.
BTW, just to let you know McHale's Navy is on there twice. I don't want it to affect the results.
djcapote 11-14-2006, 10:42 PM Donna Reed Show
Father Knows Best
Hazel
I would vote for Dobie Gillis & Ozzie & Harriet, but it wasn't on the list. All the old 70's & 80's shows pop up on other stations or probadly will be available (if not already available) on DVD. The CLASSIC shows arent't anywhere to be found :(
wutupbrandon 11-14-2006, 10:57 PM just so you all know, the wonder years is going to win by a mile.
who cares about facts of life! watch it on dvd! theres no other chance to watch the wonder years besides on I Network! I already have my VCR to tape the Growing Pains Marathon on Thanksgiving Weekend!!!
Edit by Seth (Administrator): Text reduced in size. There's no need to shout.
umm...the fact that FOL is on DVD should answer the question "who cares about facts of life!"
BrianPGH1972 11-14-2006, 11:30 PM I voted for One Day At A Time and Wonder Woman.
Even though I have the entire WW series on DVD, it would still be cool if it had a regular, daily airing on cable.
JamisonCollins 11-14-2006, 11:37 PM I voted for Dennis the Menace, Perfect Strangers and F Troop. All shows I have enjoyed in the pass and would again.
bobnj 11-14-2006, 11:51 PM I also vote for Knots Landing. I miss this show.....
elliotmg 11-15-2006, 12:15 AM I would love to see the sitcom Private Benjamin again- it was a Warner brothers show that has about 40 episodes so could run on weekends.
AlanBradyShowWriter 11-15-2006, 01:19 AM I voted for Kate and Allie, Silver Spoons, and Still the Beaver, all of which I loved as a kid growing up in the '80s. I haven't seen Kate and Allie since Oxygen took it off in early 2002, and I haven't seen Silver Spoons or Still the Beaver since I was in junior high school.
I wouldn't mind seeing Donna Reed either, as that's my mom's favorite. She also really liked One Day at a Time.
Is My Sister Sam eligible? That was a good show too.

And no two single IPs appear to come to from the same location - or area for that matter. I mean, they could be using a proxy, but I very much doubt it. Also, remember, the blog attracts a *LOT* of visitors who otherwise never pay the boards the time of day; and you have to register to vote, soooooo....
flashgordon 11-15-2006, 06:38 AM Gotta go with HEAD OF THE CLASS, MY FAVORITE MARTIAN & PERFECT STRANGERS.
Later,
Jon

FOLrocks1 11-18-2006, 09:24 PM The Facts of Life, Maude, and The Wonder Years. I REALLY would love to see The WOnder Years back on TV.
vashti1999 11-18-2006, 10:36 PM The top ten so far:
1.Perfect Strangers (Warner) 44
2.The Facts of Life (Sony) 43

9.Kate & Allie (Universal) 23
10.Dennis the Menace (Sony)/Head of the Class (Warner) 22
Pavan 11-18-2006, 10:53 PM I'm hoping we see some of these top 10 shows on i in 2007. Interesting that most of the top 10 is 70s/80s. The surprise so far has been Still the Beaver with 19 votes.
AlanBradyShowWriter 12-02-2006, 09:25 PM I'm one of the 21 people that voted for Still the Beaver. I grew up in the '80s (born in 1977, so consider myself a child of the '80s), and I watched not only the original black-and-white Leave It to Beaver, which I still enjoy to this day, but also Still the Beaver (aka The New Leave It to Beaver) on The Disney Channel and TBS. I'm thrilled it got so many votes, and I hope it will eventually turn up on i or be released on DVD!
And YAY for Kate and Allie and Silver Spoons making the top ten! They were my other two votes in this poll! :)
