Can someone help me out regarding hotel the friends stayed at?

They say they had joining rooms but when Pheobe, Chandler and Monica are listening to Ross and Charlie in Ross' room the camera pans to Ross' room his bed is against the wall where Pheobe, Chandler and Monica are listening through, but when Ross leaves his room and he enters the same room where Pheobe, Chandler and Monica were listening to him and Charlie and as Ross opens the door to Monica and Chandler's room a hall way is revealed, I thought Ross' room was supposed to be behind Monica and Chandler's room?

How was that set layed out?
