I wouldn't call it pathetic. She's been unlucky and she's made some bad choices in her personal life. But, I wouldn't consider it pathetic at all.

Divorce happens..it's better than staying with someone for the wrong reasons, esp when kids are involved. Nothing wrong with it. Learn and move on.

Of course there are situations where divorce is appropriate, but there are too many people who get into marriages with little or no knowledge of what kind of responsibility it is. Many of these problems that so many married couples think are so big, and end up getting divorced over, are really small things, that could easily be resolved, if they just invested a little time in trying to fix. As far as Britney goes, people like her just make a mockery of marriage. Her first marriage, which lasted about two minutes, is perfect evidence of that.

In a bit of breaking news, CNN.com is reporting that Britney Spears has filed for divorce from husband Kevin Federline. Spears filed legal papers Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing "irreconcilable differences." She also asked for legal and physical custody of their two children. Federline appeared on RAW last night in a taped segment issuing a challenge for a one on one match against WWE champion John Cena on the New Year's edition of RAW.

Several Hollywood gossip websites are reporting that Spears left Federline several days ago, taking their children to a local Los Angeles hotel. Apparently, Federline allegedly went into a fit of rage and destroyed some property after Spears laughed at a tape of his recent WWE appearances. It looks like that may have been the breaking point for her.

It was bound to happen. I'm happy though. :D I couldn't stand K-Fed. Britney deserves so much better. I hope this time she'll get it right and find someone wonderful.

LOS ANGELES - A day after Britney Spears filed divorce papers, Kevin Federline counter-filed court papers Wednesday seeking sole custody of the couple's two children.

The former backup dancer and aspiring rapper is also seeking spousal support. He says the couple's community assets are "uncertain," though Spears said in her divorce papers there were none to speak of, suggesting the two had a prenuptial agreement in place.

"Kevin is prepared to go the distance in order to do what he feels is necessary to protect and safeguard the children and will not be intimidated or dissuaded from pursuit of those goals," said Michael Sands, spokesman for Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan.

Citing "irreconcilable differences," Spears filed for divorce Tuesday.

Spears, 24, and Federline, 28, have a 1-year-old son, Sean Preston, and an infant son, Jayden James, who was born Sept. 12. Spears is seeking custody of both children.

Spears wed Federline in the fall of 2004. They had a ceremony in September, but court papers state the couple were officially married Oct. 6.

It was nonstop drama after that.

Magazines couldn't get enough of the pair, documenting their every tender gesture and teary-eyed fight. The couple contributed to the coverage with their self-filmed reality TV show, "Britney & Kevin: Chaotic."

The tabloids depicted him as a partygoer living off his wife's fame and fortune. She was painted as a bumbling mother with fading figure and visage. Her chart-topping career all but imploded.

It was the first marriage for Federline, though he was still dating his pregnant girlfriend Shar Jackson when he met the pop star. Jackson gave birth to Federline's second child just months before he married Spears.

It was the second wedding in a year for Spears, whose 55-hour marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander ended in annulment.

Born in Kentwood, La., in 1981, Spears got her first taste of fame at age 11 when she joined the "The All New Mickey Mouse Club" TV show. Her fellow Mouseketeers included future superstars Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera.

Five years after leaving the show, Spears released her debut album, "Baby One More Time" and skyrocketed to fame.

Federline appeared in the 2004 movie "You Got Served" and performed as a backup dancer for Timberlake, Pink and Michael Jackson. He released his debut CD, "Playing With Fire," on Oct. 31.

In an interview with The Associated Press two weeks ago, he praised Spears as a positive force in his life.

"Her influence on me has been really big," he said. "She's a strong woman and she knows what she wants out of life and that helps build a strong man. I look up to you baby."

I think the bottom line is that Kevin only married Britney for exposure to enhance his "RAPPER" career; and I think Spears was naive enough to marry this guy, oblivious to this fact. I wish their children all the happiness in the world, though.

Yeah, I think you're probably right about that. Since marrying her, he's got his lackluster rap career going, he's been on several tv shows including CSI, he's currently working for the WWE, and he may end up getting allimony from her for the rest of his life. For a guy to orchestrate all that, apparantely he's not as stupid as he looks.

I just hope Britney will stop being so naive as you said, and learn from all this. I honestly don't get any pleasure from the stuff she's going through, it's just really hard for me to have a whole lot of sympathy for someone who's in her mid 20's, and continuously makes stupid mistake after stupid mistake. Different sources have offered KFed $$$ in the millions for the tapes. Apparently they exist as KFed as admitted in the past that is what they did and Britney stated a few times how great their sex life WAS.
