Amazon has a new "Three's Company" dvd slated for a January 30, 2007 release date from Anchor Bay. It is titled Three's Company: Capturing the Laughter - Jack's Episodes. Does anyone know what this is? Possibly a best of compilation. The list price is $9.98 and it posts a running time of 150 minutes. You can see the listing at amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000JMKKMM/002-5694689-6093654

If those Jack-themed eps are already on the other DVD's what's the point of purchasing this particular DVD

These are targeted for die-hard fans and people who have not bought any of the season DVDs.

I thought the same thing but what Pavan said is right. It's more cost-effective for the casual buyer who wants a sampling or wouldn't buy the entire series. This was done with Friends and Sex & The City too. The only way it would entice me to buy it was if it had some exclusive bonus content. I think Anchor Bay is trying to do everything they can with the series while they have the license. I wish they would buy the rights to release The Ropers or Three's a Crowd. Maybe somewhere down the line they will.

I'm guessing that "Up in the Air" will definitely be on this compilation. I wonder if they will continue this trend and release a compilation for the other characters like Mr. Furley or Chrissy.

Judging from the way they named the dvd-
"Three's Company: Capturing the Laughter - Jack's"
it looks like they're setting up to release different character sets, but that's just speculation. They would probabley do Janet, Chrissy, and maybe the Ropers. It's a good idea if your a casual fan who want's just the best episodes.

But they really should add some extra features on it. It would be cool if they could get Amy Yasbeck or John's ex-wife/family to add some unrealeased video footage or something since this DVD is about him.

Thanks for the info Pavan! I have also just sent e-mails to both Anchor Bay and DLT regarding release of the spin-offs on dvd. I had preivously e-mailed Anchor Bay but I e-mailed them again. Hope this helps! I would love to see more TC-related shows on dvd. :)

I just got an e-mail response from Anchor Bay saying that they don't own the rights to release the spin-offs. So I guess it's not in the works so far. :(

The next DVD coming out with Jack Tripper should be Three'sa Crowd, not some best of Crap. I know that won't sell

I definatly agree I would much rather have them release a Three's a Crowd DVD rather than a best of, but a "Best of Three's Company Jack episodes" is going to sell way more than Three's a Crowd will, and they just care about profits.

It will sell. John Ritter fans will enjoy having it. Though I do want to see Three's A Crowd and The Roper's on DVD.

It's not Jack and Janet together, it's two different sets. Read a little more carefully and you'll notice that.

The episodes for Jack's Episodes are now listed over at DVD Empire. There is a typo on Urban Plowboy.

Urban Playboy
Baby It's Cold Inside

If they want the sampling, they can just buy the first season for only $5 bucks

If Amazon lists the running time as 150 minutes, then there must be another episode or maybe some extras? Five episodes wouldn't be 150 minutes long. I hope they'll maybe put some extras.
