Somewhere I have "A Life of Laughter: Remembering John Ritter" which aired in 2003 and a Good Morning America appearance with John and Joyce Dewitt.

I do not have a copy of this but I stumbled upon a promo for a special called "Born Famous" that aired sometime in the mid to late 1980s. John Ritter was involved, apparently, and is in the promo for a second or two.

I have a CBS special with the original commercials called, "Teenage America (http://imdb.com/title/tt0817522/)." It's from 1986. It's about how the America teenager has changed from the 1950s and has clips from The Donna Reed Show, Rebel Without A Cause, etc. I have some screen captures (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/37864/cat/926)of it in my photo album.

Now that you mention it, I believe it is the CBS Early Show

Unnatural Causes the movie about Vietnam Vets suffering from Agent Orange was good. Leave Yesterday Behind that was when he was a cripple right? I have both of these on beta, havent watched them in years.

My friend taped the Teenage America special and gave me a copy, I remember that one.

Ritter was an amazing actor because its hard to be able to pull of serious and comedy roles I think most actors can do one or the other, but there are exceptions.

GRAMPS was another good one in which Andy Griffith played a mean, demented, psycopath killer, I loved it seeing him in a role that was so different from his other characters.

I don't trade, but I just finished watching a 2000 movie called, 'Panic'. The main stars are William H. Macy and Donald Sutherland with John Ritter playing a secondary role as Macy's psychologist. He had a beard and looked great. Ritter delivers a fantastic performance. Underrated dramatic actor, in my opinion.

It's an excellent offbeat movie Pavan if you can get it somewhere. I ordered it off Netflix.

Being of Sound Mind and Body was his 1980 ABC special. The best skit was the airport one with David Doyle. The movie theater one with Joyce DeWitt was good, too. I have it on tape and DVD.

John Ritter was fantastic in Sling Blade. I thought Bad Santa was good too. Was that John's last movie?

Clifford's Really Big Movie was his last movie. He recorded that in early 2003 or so, and it came out in early 2004. Bad Santa was filmed in summer 2002 and came out in December 2003.

Netflix carries Manhood, and I want to rent it. It describes it as a sequel to another movie, Jack The Dog. I'm wondering if I need to watch that one first? Netflix doesn't carry Jack The Dog. Do you think it matters Pavan?

I never saw Jack the Dog, but I was able to follow Manhood. It is very dark, though. Lauren Tom is in that one, too. She was in Bad Santa with John as well. She played the midget's girlfriend in that.

OMG... I don't know what I'd think if I watched it now, but we saw it in the theatre a zillion years ago & thought it was one of the worst movies we'd ever seen. The thing we DID think was funny (and we still occasionally laugh about) is how one of the detectives kept calling the office (like every five minutes) to tell them where they were going. (This was in the days before cell phones!)

Then, of course, in real life, Dorothy Stratton was later murdered by her (ex?) husband.

Hi, I just saw this post. I have on tape the movie "Love Thy Neighbor" in fair condition (the picture quality isn't too great, but it's definitely watchable)...do you still need it? I have no idea whether or not it's the original airing, but I don't think it has any commercials. Let me know if you are interested. :)

You know, I bought that tape, along with others, from a former neighbor of mine a couple of years ago when he sold off his collection, so I'm not sure when it was taped...I'm thinking it might have been an original recording, but I'm not certain.

If you would like to trade me for a copy, (I could only give you a VHS copy, though, since I don't know how to transfer it to DVD) feel free to PM me. Since it would be my first trade on here, I would send your tape to you first, to make sure it's the quality you were expecting, etc.

I watched Manhood last night, and I loved the movie. It was a very dark, edgy, sad movie - a character study of a family in crisis. Even though John played a cad, there was still something about his character that prevented me from hating him. He was his own worst enemy, trying to fight off his demons.

I've always felt that John was an underrated dramatic actor. I think Three's Company stereotyped him to a certain degree. He had a wide range of acting ability -- extremely versatile He could make you almost lose your breath from laughing so hard, and he could make us cry.

John was breaking free from that stereotype at the time of his death. Had he lived, I think he could have done more and better dramatic films.
