Mike, you didn't look in the episode guide section! Click on the episode guide and you'll see a link to the unaired pilot and it has details and lots of photos.

I saw it!! It was weird seeing someone else play Larry - but it was interesting to watch anyway. :lol:

The show never would have worked with Louie in the role of Larry. Larry is a character who likes to appear that he's in control, but in reality is a nerotic insecure mess - which is why he needs the more easygoing and centered Balki to even him out. With Louie in the role Larry would have become way too cynical. It would have thrown off the entire balance of the relationship.

Could you imagine the dance of joy with Louie as Larry? Especially the part at the end where Larry jumps into Balki's arms? :lol:

I don't think that would work. :crazy: Some things would have had to be different because I can't really picture Louie paired up with Melanie Wilson (Jennifer) either.

Is it up on the net now? I've been looking for this for so long. (I've been a PS fan since I was a child. But, learned about this unaired pilot about 4 years ago) I want to see if it's up somewhere. But, it would be so odd to see someone besides the great Mark Linn-Baker play Larry. Ugh. So glad they didn't go with Louie though. Never ever liked him. And, Mark was perfect for the role of geeky writing buff. (Nothing wrong with that!)

I can't picture the two of them together AT ALL. :eek: However, the two of them happened to be booked as guests on a talk show on the same night. I don't remember which show - I want to say Arsenio but I'm not 100% sure now. The clip IS up on YouTube.

It would probably be hard for me to set through. Because, I was such an Mark Linn-Baker fangirl when I watched this as a kid and in reruns as a teen. (Hey. I thought Larry was hot stuff! I even named my cat Conana Linn after Conan O'Brien and him.)

But, just the idea of it...How warped it would be with Louie Anderson. How odd it would be. Like stepping into the Twilight Zone. Thank God (he..God) didn't let that happen. Could you imagine PS without Mark for the whole show? I think not.

Ditto!! Bronson/Balki may have been the "star" of the duo, but Mark/Larry was just as important to the success of the show!!!

I'd love to see it, too. I can't imagine Louie Anderson in the role. MLB played Larry so hyper. Louie was so low-energy.

That youTube clip of the Pat Sajak Show is a hoot! Poor Melanie! She had no idea Louie had been fired. Talk about awkward!

To me, this rendition of the opening episode should've been included on the first season DVD. I could be wrong, but doesn't the first season DVD of Full House include the original copy of the show's first episode? An actor named John Posey plays Danny in it.

The first season DVD release of Full House did include the unaired pilot with John Posey as Danny Tanner.

They definitely should have included it as a bonus episode on the Perfect Strangers - The Complete First and Second Seasons DVD. I don't think any clips from it have ever been uploaded.

I wonder how much time went by before the episode was filmed again. One thing that I can't help but notice is Bronson Pinchot being in different clothes compared to what we see on him during the episode re-shooting. His hair is also slightly longer in the second filming compared to the first. I love him so much. :) :) :)
