I just received my copy of "Popeye, Original Classics from the Fleischer Studio." It contains 10 classic cartoons from the 1930's. Watching it brought back a lot of memories and I laughed out loud many times. I have always been a Popeye fan and I am reminded how great these cartoons are. The far-fetched physical routines, the mumblings of both Popeye and Bluto, Olive's rusty voice, great story lines, 3-D backgrounds and the excellent music make Popeye truly unique.
I have been thinking of all the other Popeye episodes that my brothers and I enjoyed and I hope they will continue to be released.
"I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today."
