Woman Delivers Triplets Weighing Almost 16.5 Pounds

Plano, Texas -- Six pounds is not an unusual weight for a newborn baby, but it is when that baby is one of triplets.

Dallas television station KXAS reported that Plano mother Michelle McAlpin gave birth to Brooke, who weighed almost 6.5 pounds, as well as her brothers Blaise and Blake, who each weighed 5 pounds.

"It's triple the love, triple the attention, triple diapers, triple everything," McAlpin said.

It was triple the surprise for a woman who said she didn't plan the pregnancy.

The babies were conceived without the use of fertility drugs.

A friend of mine delivered identical twins combined weight of 15 lbs. They were month late. This was back in the 60's when the doctors let nature take its course.That was very dangerous! But today the doctors would have induced labor . She was huge! Well, one day shortly before delivery she and her husband were sitting in a booth at a restaurant and the babies shifted. She actually got stuck!:lol: The owner had to remove the table so that she could get out. He was laughing hysterically all the while! She was soooooooooooooo embarassed! But she laughs about it now.:lol:
