It seems that Friends reruns are fading a bit, at least here in New England.

It used to be that the reruns aired twice a night in the early evening, then once a night. Now, they've been replaced by - ugh:rolleyes: - According To Jim and moved to the early morning hour of 1 AM.

TBS has also cut back the Tuesday and Friday night blocks, replacing them with Everybody Loves Raymond on Tuesdays and - ugh:rolleyes: - The King Of Queens on Fridays.

I guess they were airing quite a bit at one point, but now it seems like newer shows are entering syndication and Friends is getting bumped for them.:confused:

Same here! Friends used 2 be for 2 hrs on Mondays & Tuesdays but got moved for some annoying reason. :mad:

Close. It went into syndication in the fall of 1998 at the beginning of the fifth season, which is usually the point when most sitcoms begin their syndication. It used to be that a show would run six or seven years before syndication.

But with the syndicators wanting a minimum of 100 episodes for strip syndication (Monday - Friday), it's safe to figure that a hit show going into its fifth season will generate that magic number.

Yeah, I noticed this too. And you know what. At the Nick at Nite boards at the website, at the Ask TVLtheLink section, someone asked about Friends coming to Nick at Nite, which it is supposed to in 2011 or something like that, and TVLtheLink said that the negotiations may fall through if they see a major decrease in local syndication and cable ratings for the show. I enjoy the show, so I hope that it does come to NAN.

Yep, but it used to be on Tuesdays and Fridays as well.

Oh well...

We get them quite a lot, im not sure what channels though, my flatmates tend to have a sense when friends is on and whatever channel its on they flick to.
Ive watched more friends these past couple of weeks then i ever thought i would do, but i aint complaining

Having lived in Great Britian for a time, Friends is so HUGE there (along with the Simpsons) that I doubt they'll stop airing it six times a day like they do :)

But, yes, here in the states, as more shows enter syndie, older ones get bumped. Which makes you say thank goodness for stuff like TV Land and Nick, which keep the 70s and 80s shows alive. Speaking of which, Friends will be airing on TV Land in, I believe, 2009. My guess is by that time TV Land will have launched a second service. They'll have to, to accomodate the glut of shows that'll be in syndie by then.
