Can you find me some coverage from the 1992 LA Riots?

If you do find any coverage from this event, you will have something that a lot of people are looking to trade for, including myself. You can even call it premium, if you like.

Sure, if I find it. I wouldn't call it premium though, those are the things you get in a cereal box.

NEWSREELS OF THE FIFTIES

Beginning during WWI and lasting through the 1950s, newsreels played an important role in dispensing information about major events. This is how America knew what the president looked like, witnessed celebrity weddings, and events around the world. This 2-DVD set features more than five hours of newsreels from the 1950s from the marriage of Grace Kelly and Prince Rainer tying the knot in Monaco, Fidel Castro taking power in Cuba, the hula hoop craze sweeping the nation, an elephant that water skis, General Douglas MacArtur in Korea, Miss Universe contest at Long Beach, Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe vacationing in Japan, and Hawaii gets it's statehood and much, much more.

Make sure to check your Library
Obvious but most often ignore source

My library for example has

History of Riverview, Chicago in the 50's
History of Broadcasting

the 60's, the riots, the love, the music 3 dvd special

911- then and now a look back on all the events and how it changed our life

Ect.

They have vhs and tapes going as far back as the History of Howdy Doody, to a 90 minute documentary on the Challenger Crash from the 80's

Find a large library and hit their video department you would be surprised what they have sometimes.
Remember, a lot of libraries have schools nearby, with kids who need to do papers.

Straight from my trade list...

John F. Kennedy Assassination

Assassination Of President Kennedy - Live CBS coverage from November
22, 1963. Begins with that day's episode of "As the World Turns" that
is soon interrupted with the sad news from Dallas. Cronkite nearly
breaks down while telling viewers that Kennedy has died. Black and
white. 6 hours from CBS studio tapes. (5)

Assassination Of President Kennedy - Live NBC coverage from November
22, 1963. From the A&E re-broadcast in 1988. 4 and 1/2 hours of live
coverage, followed by a 1 hour 30 minute capsule of weekend coverage
including JFK's funeral. Black and white, with some portions in color.
(4.5)

Shooting Of Lee Harvey Oswald - Coverage from three networks:
CBS - live for 28 minutes. Black and white. From studio tapes.
NBC - live for 12 minutes. Black and white and timecoded. From
studio tapes.
WFAA (ABC) live for 5 minutes. Black and white. From the 1983
"Kennedy Tapes" re-broadcast. (2.5-3)

The Funeral Of John Kennedy: A Remembrance - NBC re-broadcast of
portions of the funeral coverage from November 25, 1963. Hosted by
Roger Mudd. 3 hours. (4)

Perfect Film - Allegedly rescued from a garbage bin, this is about 20
minutes of raw, unedited, black and white footage of television
reporters interviewing witnesses to the Malcolm X assassination. (4)

CBS Evening News: The Assassination Of Martin Luther King Jr. - Live
broadcast from April 4, 1968. Walter Cronkite reports on the civil
rights leader's death in Memphis, Tennessee. Also, reports on a
peaceful anti-Vietnam protest. Includes original broadcast
commercials. West coast feed. 30 minutes. (2.5)

Robert F. Kennedy Assassination

Assassination Of Robert F. Kennedy - Live ABC coverage from June 4-5,
1968. Begins around 2:58am est (11:58pm pst), roughly 18 minutes
before the shooting, with some election commentary, followed by
Kennedy's victory speech live at the Ambassador Hotel. It is very odd
and surreal to see the anchorman's reaction to the shooting, as they
were just about to sign off the air for the night when the news
arrived. The story literally unfolds on live television. Runs for
about 8 hours. There is an hour of coverage missing toward the end
(possibly due to the master tape running out), so this is actually 7
hours of coverage, but spans 8. From W-ABC original broadcast. (3.5)

Assassination Of Robert F. Kennedy - Live CBS coverage from June 5,
1968. Starts abruptly around 4:00am est (1:00am pst) about 40 minutes
after the shooting. Includes many eye-witness interviews, a replay of
the earlier shooting scene as captured by CBS cameras, and the Good
Samaritan Hospital press conference announcing the beginning of the
senator's surgery. This live portion lasts about 2 hours and 45
minutes. Then we get a 30-minute progress report surrounding the
following day's events, including the identification of Kennedy's
assassin, Sirhan Sirhan. This is followed by some footage of RFK's
funeral, and more news footage of the aftermath of the shooting lifted
from an A+E documentary about the assassination. In color with some
portions in black and white. Studio copy. 3 hours, 20 minutes total.
(3.5)

Assassination Of Robert F. Kennedy - Live CBS coverage from June 4-5,
1968. This version actually begins shortly after 11:00pm est (8:00pm
pst) with a brief 3 minute update on the California primary. The
coverage resumes at 11:30pm est (8:30pm pst) for an hour of primary
coverage with Walter Cronkite. Finally, the tape picks up again at
3:01am est (12:01am pst) with what appears to be a raw CBS satellite
feed of Kennedy's victory speech at the Ambassador Hotel in Los
Angeles. The view from the satellite feed continues through 3:34am est
(12:34am pst) and captures the moment the shots are fired around
3:16am est (12:16am pst), as well as the immediate reaction of the
audience and aftermath. The coverage resumes once again around 4:00am
est (1:00am pst) and matches the CBS coverage listed above. Also
included is a brief KTLA retrospective program which replays some of
the footage captured at the moment of the shooting, and satellite feed
outtakes from some pre and post 4:00am CBS coverage with Terry
Drinkwater and a KNXT TV anchorwoman. Studio copy. About 5 hours
total. (2.5-3)

Assassination Of Robert F. Kennedy - Live NBC coverage from June 5,
1968. Begins at 3:29am est (12:29am pst) about 13 minutes after the
shooting. From W-NBC original broadcast. About 100 minutes. In color.
(3.5)

Funeral Of Robert F. Kennedy - Live CBS coverage of the procession and
departure of the funeral train following the assassination days
earlier. Hosted by Walter Cronkite. Also, a brief report on the
capture of James Earl Ray, the accused killer of Martin Luther King
Jr. Studio copy. 2 hours. (4 - Abrupt beginning and ending)

California State Archives Senator Robert F. Kennedy Assassination

Archives of all known film footage made on the day of RFK's
assassination. The clips are titled as follows:
Special Unit Senator Composite film: "Senator Kennedy Assassination"
Pat Paulsen Prior to Kennedy Speech (silent)
Kennedy Speech and Shooting Aftermath (black and white, silent)
Kennedy Shooting Aftermath (silent)
Kennedy Shooting Aftermath from NBC news footage (silent)

first moon landing. Begins abruptly with the final descent about 6
minutes before the Eagle sets down. Includes CBS's own animation and
simulation of how the approach and landing would appear from the
moon's surface. About 20 minutes in, we have the first live view of
the moon's surface, and Neil Armstrong's famous line followed by the
first moon walk, a telephone conversation with Nixon, and eventually
splashdown. Also includes some broadcast commercials. In color with
some portions in black and white. 4 hours. (2.5)

Apollo 11: Footsteps On The Moon: The Flight Of Apollo 11 - Live ABC
coverage of the first moon landing. 6 hour capsule begins with liftoff
and continues through to splashdown. "One small step for man..."
Mostly in color. All footage from the Eagle is in black and white. (3)

CBS Evening News: George C. Wallace Assassination Attempt - Live
broadcast from May 15, 1972. Walter Cronkite reports on the shooting
in Laurel, Maryland that would ultimately paralyze the governor and
end his presidential campaign. Includes eye-witness interviews, and a
replay of the shooting as captured by CBS cameras. Also, reports on

coverage from the half time and post game shows on the Raiders vs.
Dolphins football game that aired on 09/22/75. This isn't really a

recap of the day's events in which film footage of the assassination
attempt is shown, as well as photos of Sarah Jane Moore, Ford's would-
be assassin. (2)

minute special that aired on the night of December 9, 1980. Hosted
by Jane Pauly.
Live W-ABC coverage of the silent vigil that was held in Central Park
on December 14, six days after Lennon's death. Begins a little after
1:30pm est. Includes the entire 10 minutes of silence. No
commercials. (4 - Abrupt ending)

Assassination Attempt Against President Reagan - Compilation of live
coverage from Monday, March 30, 1981 on three tapes. Tape one begins
with two brief bulletins from ABC News in Washington. In the first,
anchorman Frank Reynolds reports that Reagan was shot at but not hit.
In the second, ABC's video footage of the shooting is shown for the
first time. This is followed by about an hour and a half of live
coverage picking up some time after it was reported that Reagan was in
fact struck by a bullet. During this time, there is a lot of channel
changing between ABC and CBS. The CBS coverage is hosted by Dan
Rather. Tape two picks up where tape one leaves off with an hour and
fifty seven minutes of continuous live ABC coverage from Baltimore
affiliate WJZ-TV hosted by Frank Reynolds, and Ted Koppel. Tape three
picks up where tape two left off with about an hour of continuing ABC
coverage that includes the George Washington University Hospital press
conference, and Vice President Bush's address to the nation. After ABC
goes off the air, there is about ten minutes of CBS coverage with Dan
Rather before they too leave the air. The tape culminates with an ABC
News Nightline Special (see below). (2.5-3)

est, and the Pentagon is hit a little less than fifteen minutes
afterwards. WTC collapses around 10:00am. The coverage continues until

You don't collect Local News?

You want local news? Last night in N.Y.C. there were 3 drive by shootings, 5 rapes, 9 break-ins, 17 drug arrests, 11 muggings, 19 assaults and 32 armed robberies. Do you want the news after midnight?

Got it all on one tape. Want to convert it?

You don't collect Local News?

isn't this an often revisited thread topic of one certain member???

NO, noone here collects local news---

NO, noone here collects soap operas---

NO, noone here tapes the day time talk shows, or the late night chat shows, or nightline, or the CBS news, or GOOD MORNING AMERICA, or JUDGE JUDY or JERRY SPRINGER
or any of that stuff

WHY u ponder???

2 simple reasons

1. You NEVER see people post asking for this stuff-- AND EVEN on the off chance that SOMEONE, SOMEDAY wanted 1 episodes of any of that, or 1 local news broadcast--- it would be Just that--- a ONE TIME THING---- so taping all these things on the off chance that maybe, just maybe one person will ever want it is a monumental waste of time, energy and media

and

2. I have NEVER said to my wife--- "Hey Honey, Lets watch last Aprils local news with the rainy weather report--- OOHHH that was a good one!"

LOL

People don;t ask for it ON THIS BOARD, big difference

Lamont
10-27-2006, 10:56 AM
ok i guess i see your point---
because someone asks for it IN OTHER AREAS of life, we should collect it?

has ANYONE on these boards EVER had anyone ask them for local news from 25 years ago??? anyone???? even if they asked you offline?? anyone? anyone?

i mean im a pretty old guy, and i can say that NEVER in my life has anyone ever asked me at all for it---- and i doubt they ever will

ive NEVER been asked at all-- the only news people ever want to see again are the huge stories in life

now if someone really wants it i guess to each his own, but most of us try to collect things that we will ACTUALLY WATCH, or ACTUALLY TRADE

You know how the condemmed prisoner is granted a request for a last meal, our boy would ask if he could substitute that for a pilot and 3 original commercials. That's what happens when as a kid your out in the sun to long without a hat.

ok i guess i see your point---
because someone asks for it IN OTHER AREAS of life, we should collect it?

has ANYONE on these boards EVER had anyone ask them for local news from 25 years ago??? anyone???? even if they asked you offline?? anyone? anyone?

i mean im a pretty old guy, and i can say that NEVER in my life has anyone ever asked me at all for it---- and i doubt they ever will

ive NEVER been asked at all-- the only news people ever want to see again are the huge stories in life

now if someone really wants it i guess to each his own, but most of us try to collect things that we will ACTUALLY WATCH, or ACTUALLY TRADE

isn't this an often revisited thread topic of one certain member???

LOL

     :p

You got this all wrong. Take your no.2. I say to my wife" Hey Honey, Lets watch last Aprils local news with the rainy weather report--- OOHHH that was a good one!" She responds with "can't you think of something better" and I throw her on the bed and give her some local and national thrown in.
It's all a matter of how you present your product.

ONE PERSON has tried 2 TIMES NOW, to change this thread around and misdirect away from the issue--- the issue is NOT lamont or his trading or awards or not, and i wont go into this one on one personal silliness with any member when they do that, it serves no point at all, and usually leads to ugliness, fighting or hurt feelings (which im sure none of us want to happen)
:nonono:
this is how people (who are losing a discussion) try to get everyone off track from the point of the discussion and try to take it down to a personal level---
i do not see how asking me if i won a TRADER AWARD is a logical response to a discussion of news collecting, and i dont see how asking me when i plan to RETIRE FROM TRADING is a logical response either

so i urge all people to discuss the thread issue, and not to get sidetracked with the silliness

Ok, this is preety annoying seeing this on page 3 or what ever. The first page is great, I asked a question if anyone had anything and people responded saying they did. That is what is suppose to happen when you make a thread like I did. I have gotten lots of responses and I hope to make a few trades now. Great advice was also given and I thank those who gave it, but the rest is dumb.

Now, justins5256 gave a nice list and I am about to email him. He listed many things. Solomon asked a simple question but of couse Harvey has to start things up, he was the one who did it this time.

Harvey

Not everyone trades locals, I don't really care for a city I never lived in, but there is no harm in asking. I am not intrested in your Westerns because I did not grow up with them. They mean nothing to me. Solomon grew up in Phillly so I am sure he would like to see the news from his youth. That makes sense to me. I am sure he thinks your westerns are dumb because they don't interest them.

That "Got it all on one tape. Want to convert it?" of couse was poking at his thread from a few days ago. Harvey always brings up **** and it gets annoying. 35 posts or so since I saw this thread in the morning and most are all crap from Harvey. Again he brought it up. He started this. Nothing wrong at all with asking a question.

Where does the westerns come from. ? No one mentioned it. Maybe my eyesight is bad but please point it out to me. Say what you want, feel what you want but don't make up things. Next tell me I spoke of chickens.

As far as local news, Solomon brings it up time and time and time again and evryone tells him that's not how we trade but it doesn't stop. Is it posisible that it gets annoying. As Joker said "get new material" but in two weeks we will hear the same stale story again about local news and who has it.

It's an example. I don't think that is hard to figure it out. I compared his want of news to your want of Westerns. You like Westerns don't you? You have mentioned it before, haven't you? You like them and collect them. Solomon likes local news and things with original commercials. He has mentioned that before. He collects them because he likes them. See the comparison?

How is that making things up. Your have list is full of westerns. You have mentioned the Lone Ranger and growing up with it tons of times. But I am making that up?

Everyone tells him that? There are a tons of traders here. Hundreds of them. Not everyone comes here everyday like some of us. I don't recall seeing justins5256 here before. Maybe he had local news and he didn't mention it. That is why you ask. You can make a "looking for this" thread at different times of the week and different people will respond depending who is on the website. I collect GI stuff, I have got my stuff from so many people, not all regulars though. If I bring up something more than once more people will see it. The more you advertise, the better chance you have of finding something. But I guess that is to hard for you to figure out these things aren't they?

I don't see why you had to respond in the first place. Take your own advice and ignore Solomons post. Don't like what you read, don't read it.

Gilligan Fanatic--- youre a good guy and i like u

BUT i will point out (u can go to the SEARCH mode and check and see)
tvresearcher has brought up LOCAL NEWS before, several times--- with the same results, he KNOWS UPFRONT that NOONE AT ALL trades or collects it, he has mentioned it before and suggested to newbies that they trade it

so when he YET AGAIN brings it up with lilhave (WHO he has been round and round and round on the topic with in the past) he ALLREADY KNOWS the answer--- he knows lilhave (and noone else) collects local news
he is only asking the question to take the thread off into a little back and forth

dont think he is as innocent as he wants to pretend to be
if this was the FIRST time he brought it up, or even the fifth time, i could buy it
but we all know how he feels, and we all know that noone else agrees? so why ask a question that he knows will cause commotion?

anyhow, if u check my list u will see a whole NEW SECTION that has lots of old stuff, and if u email me direct i can point u to some guys off the site with tons more

Can someone please tell me why there is so much drama on this board?

Guys, really, who gives a flying flip what other people trade and post requests for? We all have different tastes, likes, and dislikes. No one is better than anyone else for having a taste in westerns versus a taste in news coverage. You may THINK your collection is better than someone else's but, in the end, it's your opinion, nothing more. One trader's DVD collection is another trader's ideal set of coasters.

Lamont

the "drama" comes from some people who just like to stir up commotions
there are those who will ask a question or make a post, NOT because they really are adding to the discussion, BUT because they know it will upset someone else, or because its an allready known answer and they just have nothing else to do EXCEPT cause drama

believe it or not, there are those who live for the drama

It seems like there are only a few, maybe 4 or 5 that actualy care what he says to keep a running ballot.

People do move you know, I said yesterday I lived in New York City, I also lived in Rome Italy. Just because I haven;t lived there in almost 20 years doesn;t mean I couldn't have stuff recorded from there. Not everyone reads every single thread either. You may do it, but I sure don't. They might have missed him asking it at one point.

You jump all over the place. Contra hearings is not local new but national. Solomon was talking local for the upteenth time. As far as your 35,000 comment, ONLY those interested in trading come here, not the entire membership as those not interested in the Jefferson's don't go to that section. Those who are in this section as a wide, wide, wide majority do not collect local news, and don't look to trade for it and have expressed that belief numerous, numerous times.

Can't understand why someone would to know the weather for July 6th, 1981. Does it make a difference if it was balmy, cloudy, rainy or whatever? I can't say it enough, people don't care. So on that date there was a break in at Joe's garage and 5 tires were stolen and the police report they have a lead on the supect who it turns out is the son of the head librarian. The annual fishing contest began today at St. Paul's lake and so far a two lb. catfish is the heaviest and Jim who owns the malt shoppe is going to give the winner a free ice cream sundae as a prize. Is this is what people collect? I like Lamont, does that mean I want to hear the local news from some small station in Randelman, N.C. during the rainy season of April, 1976. Why would anyone want it, if your not from Randelman.?

But still Solomon will bring it up.

I'm from N.Y. why would I have local news from Philly, and why would someone in Philly have local news from 10 years ago from San Diego.? It's illlogical and so no one makes any effort to collect same. But this won't end as Solomon will bring it up again and when he does you want hush, hush. Let me tell you now, it won't happen.

the "drama" comes from some people who just like to stir up commotions
there are those who will ask a question or make a post, NOT because they really are adding to the discussion, BUT because they know it will upset someone else, or because its an allready known answer and they just have nothing else to do EXCEPT cause drama

believe it or not, there are those who live for the drama

Maybe I can end it this way. I should start a poll entitled where is yesterday's newspaper. The one you read for whatever reason, sports, editorial, variety, etc? If you live in a fishing community it was used to wrap fish. If you mailed out a big package of disks, you used it as stuffing in the box. Now take the news from your local paper two days ago, that you can't even find. some people buy a paper in the morning and throw it out in the evening.

Who has their timer set to record to the local news from their home town? Did anyone ever post on the site that they had the local newscasts for say Helena Montana, their home town for the fall of 1983 and who wants to trade for it? Does anyone ask does anyone have the local news from station kyoc in Deluth, Minnesota for January 1982. You save the news if Cousin Louie is on the show, showing the big turkey he raised, or maybe it shows your next door neighbor being cuffed and taken away and you hated his guts because his f ****dog kept you up all night but why would someone from 1000 miles away care?

In short yesterday's local news is yesterday's local news and not important anymore. I really wonder if al ocal station really saves the local broadcasts from 25 years ago.

If a local news story become national news that could be different but just another day in a small town, no different from the previous day and no different from the following day, I see no one having a desire for that.

Harvey with me it's not about the News, it's about the anchor. The WPVI News I watch Now, some of the same anchors are on there and I just was curious to see how they looked in 1981. And i was able to see that when a Trader from this board had a 1981 Philly news in his collection.

I can understand that. Any topic, any subject has a following. You wouldn't believe the types of clubs that are on Yahoo. You were curious about how a anchor from WPVI looked like in 1981. If someone was not from that region, not only would they have never heard of the anchor, they would have no interest. In public speaking they teach you "to know your audience and know your subject matter" The same talk is not given at the first Baptist revival meeting at the local church as one would give at the annual Fireman's convention in Boston.

I'm sure you have a strong desire to gain as much local news as you can but maybe this is not the best place to mine for it. One digging for diamonds goes to where diamonds might be. Isn't there groups in the Philly area that would be able to help you locate local news then going to a national site like this which is national in scope, not local and is much more catered to locating TV shows. I'm not sure but are there any news groups out there that are more tailored for your needs.?

This is the kind of logic that frustrates many readers---- when the topic is a thread about collecting OLD NEWS, "one person" interjects and asks " DO U COLLECT LOCAL NEWS?" when this "one Person" ALLREADY KNOWS the other party DOES NOT (as they have had the discussion before) and yet they ask again for no reason, and then when the discussion turns to debating whether anyone collects local news or not, then this "one person" trys to divert the topic to collecting westerns? why? no reason that I can ascertain

I WILL ASK THIS THOUGH, look at all the trade lists and sites out there, look at the ebay and ioffer sites--- u SURE DO see a lot of complete western series dont you??? and how many local news broadcasts of the 1980s do u see??

tvresearcher, u r an adult

its not "trading related" at all sir, its just common sense

when u r in a discussion, what ADULTS do is Discuss the situation-- they do not insult the person IN PLACE of debating them

in this thread alone, u have chosen to make your little jabs at me like 6 times now, for no reason--- i have not made off comment jabs at you, ive only replied to the topic at hand, which was why noone collects local news (which is a question YOU started, not me, not lilhave), and yet your replies keep being off topic and meant to be jabs at me, redwhine, lilhave or anyone who disagrees with you

ok ill play along--- i'd never have gone into this, but since u asked...

if u want to learn
here are a few suggestions from your old uncle lamont

1. dont ask questions that you ALLREADY KNOW the answer to (such as WHAT, NO LOCAL NEWS?) when you have ALLREADY had the discussion with the person, and know upfront that they disagree with you --- that is just stirring the pot for no reason ---- sort of like going to a MADD meeting and hollering out "who wants a beer?"

2. when you are arguing/debating/discussing any topic, try to LOGICALLY and INTELLIGENTLY give your side of the discussion, this means having some sort of reason that the other party can understand--- if you do not back up your opinions with something more than I THINK SO BECAUSE I THINK SO, people will not respect the views or the person who posts them

3. if you are losing the discussion, do not change the subject as a diversion, do not decide to take pot shots at the poster and do not become unresponsive in your answers--- this only gives those who read the thread the impression that you have no idea what you are talking about

4. if the flow of the thread is not going well, do not ask others who are totally unrelated to the topic to back you up. it doesnt help matters if JOE X from the LIGHTNING THEATRE board suddenly comes to the PATTY DUKE SHOW Board for the 1st time ever to suddenly support a statement someone makes--- it comes off looking as if they are just supporting the PERSON and not the IDEA or STATEMENT, and looks desperate

5. try to be respectful and treat others as you would have them treat you, we all get caught up in the moment and make foolish choices at times, but do your best to be fair and admit if you screw up

OK is that enough for today class?

LOL

Misquote? "Out of Your Ass" is a phrase down here in Virginia. I think it could be everywhere. My mistake if it isn't known in NY, but I was just using a phrase. You don't know a comparison, you don't know simple phrases, and you don't know when to stop.

Harvey the point Matt is trying to make is why do you care? I see traders ask for things on here that I would never watch in a million years but I don't make a big deal about it. The message I hope you got from Matt's irritation with you, is-"LET ME DO ME and YOU DO YOU and everything will be alright

There is a difference Solomon. When people ask for certain sets they do it because they are sincere and truly want that item. I too may not desire or have any interest in that show but I repect their wishes. Again not everyone likes chocolate ice cream. But I, like many feel that much of what you post is not out of sincerity but just to stir the pot. You know you receive no support for your one item at a time on a vhs tape with original commercials. No one really trades that way but at every opportunity you keep raising the same thing with the same answers. The best definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. What are you expecting when you keep saying the same thing over and over and over? Take my word, I'm not the only one it annoys. Folks here have duplicastors or burners in their computer and look to get as complete a series as possible. Don't trade for vhs tapes, one episode at a time with commercials. Are you really expecting a favorable response?

Boy, if you call me a name I will call you a name but I called you nothing on the site. You called me names in PM's and I responded in kind but did not bring it to the board. You selectively stated what I called you in private but not what you said to me first.

Did I say your not wanted? Don't switch words like Gilligan. Did I say stop coming to the trading board? No I did not. I told you as many in the past have told you that almost all trade dvds, trade full series, have no interest in vhs tapes, have no great desire for original commercials, one show at a time so maybe you should evaluate your needs and desires, that maybe change wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Was it not you in a thread back around May stating that you wanted to buy a $400.00 dollar duplicator and you would purchase same in Sept. and wanted advice. All complimented you for stepping up and gave you brands. Were you sincere or was that just talk.?

No one wants you to leave but possible stop bringing up the same tired topic time and time again. Has anyone ever responded and said "that's how I trade". Never but you keep asking and asking, so I and others sometimes question your sincerity.

I made a thread about looking for the Iran Contra hearings a few months ago. I got a ton of PM's saying, No, but I wish I did. I have seen local news on peoples lists, not everyones, but not just two people either.
That's so true Matt. You make excellent points. I could kick myself when I think of the vintage news stories that I didn't tape, or taped but didn't save.

Great post. Says it all.

it was TVRESEARCHER who first took the thread down this road

go back and read and see WHO it is that asked

YOU DONT COLLECT LOCAL NEWS (post #17 or 18 i believe)

and then go to SEARCH, and search for past threads about that same thing---
TVRESEARCHER allready, repeat ALLREADY knew the answer to that question, and he allready knew how lilhave, lamont, t-greg, etc felt about it

that is what is known as BAITING someone, asking a question DESIGNED to stir up a spat (OR ill give him the benefit of the doubt--- MAYBE he forgot he had asked that several times in the past)

maybe SOMEONE collects that stuff-- BUT the active traders who take part in the day to day postings here do not, and it is widely known, so asking a question like that is NOT a legit question (maybe the 1st time it is, but not the umpteenth time)

had tvresearcher NOT asked that question (KNOWING IT WOULD CAUSE A RESPONSE) then none of the follow up comments would have ever followed

u know, the Jfk, Rfk, Mlk assassinations, the moon landing, 9/11, space shuttle disaster, nixon resignation, etc, etc
because 20 years from now, people will still care about this

these are big stories that a lot of people are interested in

but noone will care about what JOE THE WEATHERMAN looked like when he was just 22

WHERE I TRADE, IF I TRADE, WHEN I TRADE, NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.

Got it?

Question-- if 2 sides are BOTH arguing back and forth for an ENTIRE Page---
can 1 side claim it is harassment if they keep responding? it seems both of you two have had some jabs back and forth. And I think its been said many times before that if you dont want to keep an arguement going, stop arguing. does it really matter who gets the last word in? I think we all need to keep things in perspective here... these boards are NOT real life and some people put too much weight into these little heated exchanges and make mountains out of molehills.
I wasn't arguing. Just posting. Harvey started in with his baloney on post #128. Some Trading Post regulars have to keep in mind that this is TJ's site, and stop giving non-regulars the third degree when they post here.

When I post, why I post, where I post, my business. Nobody elses. I'm not breaking any rules. Not so sure I can say the same for others around here.

I think Harvey and Lamont should start their own Trading Site. I'm sure my application would be denied-lol

It becomes my business when you're saying it to me.

Nah, I would extend a invite. It would be boring without you.

Ditto my friend. Who are you speaking to, Prince Charles? I didn't begin dialogue with you. You came up addressed me, I replied and now you want to report me for harassment. At least get the facts straight.
