Second NBC special--with Karl Malden. Segment one, I think. Wanda Jean Mays. What was the solution to the case? I remember reading about it, but forgot.
Found this piece of information on her: "12 May 1986
Wanda Jean Mays, a clerk in the MICOM Procurement Directorate, disappeared from her aunt’s house in Guntersville, Alabama. There were still no leads as to her whereabouts 20 years later. Her mother, Dorothy Mays, also worked at Redstone Arsenal in the Civilian Personnel Office."

There is no solution, at least not yet. Wanda is still missing. There have been some possible sightings of her, I believe most if not all of those occured shortly after she disappeared, however none of those could be confirmed. You are right, though, this was the first segment on that broadcast.

Such an interesting case. I believe a friend of hers even posted to the board months ago and confirmed she hasn't been found. What do you guys think happened to her? With the blood found in the canoe at first you would think she may have drowned but they never found her in the water. I think with her psychological problems they mentioned she broke and window the left the house on her own. I also think it could be possible that she was wandering (some people claim to see a woman matching her description walking down the road) and could have been abducted by someone. After all that woman at the convenience store claims to have seen Wanda in the back seat of that car with two men. Wanda was very pretty and its not out of the question that someone saw her walking and picked her up. I just think if she died out there by that boat dock they would have found some trace of her by now. I do hope they can one day find out what happened to Wanda for her family's sake.
