If you didn't hear, the Friday Night movie will only be shown once. All 7 regularly scheduled Benson episodes will be shown instead of just the last one in the order.

Good job to everyone who spoke up about this. Hey we may not be an extremely big group but we're a vocal group over there. ;)

Thanks for the blog headline and letting us know that Friday Night movies will end in December. I am surprised they lasted so long. When they first announced them, they made it sound as though it would just be a summer thing but then they kept advertising them even after August & September had ended. It will be great to get the Benson mini-marathon back on Fridays! :)

I wonder what their reasoning was behind this move...are we fans on the message board over there vocal enough, is the show picking up ratings-wise, or is there some other reason they decided to show the movie encore presentation on Saturday?

Whatever the reason, I'm happy. :D

They are just lazy to reschedule the episodes. So, they are putting in random episodes. Episodes 45-47 were scheduled, but the ones before that were the "new" ones schedule because of the change.

Ghostbusters 2 will now encore on Saturday, November 25 at 12pm-2:30pm instead of immediately after the premiere on Friday, November 24 (10pm-12:40am).
Additionally, both airings of Ghostbusters 2 will be followed by an episode of I Pity The Fool.

Friday encore will be replaced by five episodes of Benson from approx. 1:10am to 4am. Episodes 33-36, 55.

i think that the best way to send a message to TVLAND that this is what the fans WANT, is for people to KEEP posting on the Benson board there - Link has said that it was due to the fan's response that they moved the encore showing of the movies for Benson.

I post often over there (my name is "Vandelay" on that board)...it's also encouraging that they are accomodating the show a little more now. I just feel that if they had left the show at 11pm EST every day for awhile instead of one lousy week, the show would have done pretty well in that slot as people discovered it. They didn't exactly allow people enough time to even realize it was there. But I'm assuming the ratings must be pretty decent in the Tuesday and Friday slots otherwise they would have probably yanked it from those slots as well by now.

Whatever it takes to get the show to DVD, let's do it. :D

Some notes on this, Benson episodes on Friday are: episodes 78, 125, 60-62. I Pity the Fool and Andy Griffith will air after the Stir Crazy encore from 2-3pm Saturday.

Encore will remain following the premiere of Great Balls of Fire next Friday night (Dec. 8). So, Great Ball of Fire from 10pm-12:30am, encore from 12:30am-3:30am, then an episode of I Pity the Fool at 3:30am. No Benson that night.
