If you grew up in the era of 1970's childrens television and viewed the little segments of "In the News" after many childrens programs, you'd hear the booming, distinctive voice of Christopher Glenn, who told the news in such a way that never talked down to his young audience by introducing and explaining what happened that many would never tune in to a regular news program. Glenn, who retired in February, 2006 after a 35 year career, died Tuesday in Connecticut of liver cancer at the age of 68.

A few years back, I began listening to a talk radio station that's a CBS affiliate. At the top of every hour, there'd be a newsbrief with Christopher Glenn. That brought back memories of Saturday mornings and In The News:D
