On Tuesday, they showed the full opening credits, but did anyone catch the way ABC Family really speedily ran the full opening credits?

I didnt see Tuesday's but they did that in April. I've seen the long version of the Family Matters opening theme. I wonder how come that's not sped up.

Yes. I didn't see this thread, and posted it in another thread...Anyway, YES! Abcfamily played the Extended opening theme song for 2 epsiodes so far. They do the same thing with Full House. They only play it during certain episodes. I have no idea why they don't just show the entire thing. The extended one is about a minute long, and god forbid we lose a 30 second commercial.

That's weird for them to put it on Tuesday. Totally weird....I mean, show the full season.....though I hate it when they cut it to commercial when you know there was more dialogue in The Hogan Family.

I know!!! ABCFAMILY is known for doing that. They do it to all of their shows. That's so annoying.

Just keep watching the episodes. the extended Theme Song will most likely pop up every now and then. It did about 3 times last week.

Which episodes did the full intro air?

Here in Minneapolis, THF ran locally from 1993 - 1996. In the ones that aired here only two episodes aired with the full versions of the intro... The first episode with Sandy Duncan and the one where Mark and Willie get married for a school assignment. Here in Minneapolis, those episodes aired right next to each other. No other episodes in the line up had the extended intro. (Note: those same two episodes also aired the end credits without JB saying "The Hogan Family is a Miller Boyett Production..." and had the original Lorimar Telepictures ending on them. I still have them on tape.

Then on Pax, all of season 2 of Valerie aired with the uncut intros (with all but one of them saying "The Hogan Family". Also one episode from season 3 aired it unedited (with "The Hogan Family" logo. It was the one where David studies with that girl and then leads Burt and Rich to believe more happened then studying.

Also on Pax, in one episode (I forget which), a very odd version of the intro played where the intro started AFTER the opening bars of music and cut right to "Life is such a sweet insanity". Stranger yet, right after the first verse the song continued on with all of its other normal syndicated edits. Very odd. I also still have that one on tape.

So, thats why I'm interested to know which two episodes aired on ABC Family with the unedited theme song. If it was Sandy's 1st and the one where the boys got married, then its safe to assume ABC Family probably received the same syndicated prints my local affiliate received in the 90s. If thats the case, no other episodes will air with the extended theme. If it was other episodes than what I indicated above, then who knows. :-(

It was the one where Mark goes to David's high school. I think the other one would be the pilot.

Yea, they have played the full opening about 3 or 4 times now. The first time they did it, it was way too fast. But, I think they slowed it down a little bit the next few times they played it. It a double-dged sword: I love the full opening, but that means more editing in the actual episode.

They aired another uncut episode this morning at 7:30 central with the full theme song... it was the one where Mark and Willie cut school to get Vanna White's autographed autobiography and David plays a clown at Mrs. Poole's nephew's birthday party, thrown in the Hogan's living room.

It's really interesting how they speed it up. The pitch isn't consistant. It speeds up, slows down and then speeds up again -- very odd. Oh well, it's still great to see an occassional episode uncut. :-)

So here's the cool part. So far ABC Family hasn't been showing the same episodes uncut as my local affilliate here did in the 90s and what Pax did 6 years ago... which means any episode is apt to be aired unedited! Very exciting!
