Best Buy has teamed up with Sony to produce Starter Sets, like Fox has done in the past, but they are doing it a different way. It's hard to explain, so I'll let Gord do the talking for me:

Bad idea IMO. I'd like to just check out Charlies Angels but I know that Starsky and Hutch is GOLD, Police Woman is fair, and Hart is not my cup of tea. The odds of someone not knowing what 2 or 3 of the shows in each set is like is unlikely. Just and opinion.

sounds like a dumb idea to me - it would've made more sense to make up BONUS disks with free episodes of say 4 different series to include with other sets, that way they might actually entice people into buying some of the other series that they have sampled.

I like the coupon part though - if you get your money back for the starter set when you buy the full season set, then its not so bad an idea

I wouldn't be interested. I like to choose my own shows and there are ones in there I would never watch. They picked some top shows, but threw in some clunkers.

I don't care either way, I'm just glad Sony is including "NewsRadio" in one of their stunts. They're better for the show than N@N is, lol.

Well, I think its a good idea. SInce most of the shows on the starter sets are not carried in best Buy stores(Mad About You, NewsRadio ,Jeffersons, etc), if the starter set for that show does well, then maybe they will carry it in the store. I know I have wanted Mad About You for years, but can't find the DVD's anywhere, so maybe if the starter set for the show does well, it will be carried in the store.
