I know you hate the fact that the pregnancy was written in. So, tell us your ideal finale.

View Full Version : Solomon how would you have written the finale? Ireneparalegal 10-14-2006, 06:45 PM I know you hate the fact that the pregnancy was written in. So, tell us your ideal finale. Anyone else who wants to post their ideas, go ahead. Brian Damage 10-14-2006, 09:16 PM First, I would've made it a two parter. Secondly, I would give Michael a better finale than what he had. Mr. Television 10-14-2006, 09:25 PM First, I would've made it a two parter. Secondly, I would give Michael a better finale than what he had. It seems like the show was rushed. Everything happened in the last 5 minutes. Ireneparalegal 10-14-2006, 11:25 PM First, I would've made it a two parter. Secondly, I would give Michael a better finale than what he had. I agree, a two-parter. I always felt that. Too rushed. Yes, Michael getting a scholorship or something pertaining to school. I mean, all we heard in the first seasons was how he was going to be someone, a lawyer, a supreme court justice, etc. Maybe getting an internship at a law office or something. ThomasE 10-15-2006, 05:47 PM I would have had Thelma talk about going to school and then the pregnancy could come into play. Also, let us the audience actually see Keith and his agents negotiating a deal and let is see Thelma at the doctor with the news about her being pregnant. I wanted to see the doctor tell Keith that his knee was better. This should have been a three part finale or even two parts. At least it got a better ending than Archie Bunker's Place. With the programs running for 13 years, you would have thought that CBS would have allowed them to wrap up with some shows for the next season. The Jeffersons just diappeared. Can you imagine the finale being advertised? Announcer: "George, Tom. Their Granddaughter and Girl Scout Cookies. Who will sell the most cookies? A can't miss finale." Ireneparalegal 10-15-2006, 06:19 PM The fact that Good Times had several two and three parters, it would only make sense to have the finale be one as well. What a big mistake the producers did. Lamont 10-15-2006, 07:15 PM the show was originally created to show how real life was in the ghetto yes it was funny, but it dealt with reality and it hit home like when james died, it felt real the finale was too phony, SUDDENLY all at once, great things happened to everyone just unrealistic and stupid i would have liked to see it end realistically or with some bite to it like perhaps, with the wedding and all, something happens and michael gets shot and killed and they are reminded, that no matter what, the ghetto aint fun or maybe the job fell through for 1 of them at the end, and they were still stuck in poverty if would have been bittersweet and made u think instead of the lame-o finale that made no sense at all TVFactFan 10-20-2006, 09:02 PM I know you hate the fact that the pregnancy was written in. So, tell us your ideal finale. Anyone else who wants to post their ideas, go ahead. All the characters would have had some type of plan on where they were headed and I defintely wouldn;t have had the Evans and Willona living in the same building because that wouldn't be closing out the series. And yes the Pregnancy was dumb because the show was ending not coming back for another season Brieannas21 10-20-2006, 09:19 PM I hate the fact that they had Florida go and live with Keith and Thelma. I think that they should've had her finally getting out of the projects on her own. I would have kept the Keith,Thelma, JJ and Wilona story line. I also would have made it a two parter so that we could actually see where everyone would have lived. And Bookman would have stayed in the projects  TVFactFan 10-20-2006, 09:22 PM I hate the fact that they had Florida go and live with Keith and Thelma. You only do that when you are setting up the stoyline for the next season Brieannas21 10-20-2006, 09:25 PM Why would we need to see where they lived if he show was returning for another season? You only do that when you are setting up the stoyline for the next season Because we would have finally had a chance to see them actually out of the ghetto. Also I would have had James return  Have a Bob Newhart ending. GeorgeWBushGOP 10-20-2006, 09:49 PM perhaps winning the lottery at the beginning of the ep and watch them move on up. There really isn't much they could have done TVFactFan 10-20-2006, 09:50 PM Because we would have finally had a chance to see them actually out of the ghetto. Also I would have had James return  Have a Bob Newhart ending. It would have only made sense to see them out of the Ghetto if the show was coming back for another season and it would have had the Evans in a Better Neighborhood during the 1980's Decade Brieannas21 10-20-2006, 10:05 PM It would have only made sense to see them out of the Ghetto if the show was coming back for another season and it would have had the Evans in a Better Neighborhood during the 1980's Decade Maybe to you, that's why I said "I think that they should've...." TVFactFan 10-20-2006, 10:09 PM Maybe to you, that's why I said "I think that they should've...." Then you would have been left hanging as a Viewer-lol Brieannas21 10-20-2006, 10:11 PM Then you would have been left hanging as a Viewer-lol I don't think so, it would have been a great ending to actually see everyone out of the projects. Hence the words "TWO PARTER" TVFactFan 10-20-2006, 10:16 PM I don't think so, it would have been a great ending to actually see everyone out of the projects. Hence the words "TWO PARTER" So basicall your version would have had this at the bottom of the screen "To Never Be Continued" LOL Brieannas21 10-20-2006, 10:26 PM So basicall your version would have had this at the bottom of the screen "To Never Be Continued" LOL No I would have had James come back. I would have had them throw and house warming party. And the last scene would have been of James and Florida saying good night to Wilona, JJ, Thelma, Keith and Micheal as they all leave to go their separate ways leaving Flo and James alone in their own place finally. The first parter would have been of Flo waking up next to James saying that she dreamt about everything that happened from seasons 4-6  TVFactFan 10-21-2006, 10:59 AM No I would have had James come back. TVFactFan 10-21-2006, 01:21 PM In my post before my last my (I believe) I said that I would have EVERYONE finally getting out of the projects. Lamont 10-21-2006, 04:36 PM they should have ended the show with DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!!! the series BEST MOMENT was when james died leave it at that and have it end on a bittersweet moment--- james is dead, they are still in the ghetto, but they will make it through somehow and end with some class Ireneparalegal 10-21-2006, 04:45 PM Because we would have finally had a chance to see them actually out of the ghetto. Also I would have had James return  Have a Bob Newhart ending. :brent I love it!!!!! |
